Would it have killed them to use the same scale for each graph and start the scale at 0 not at random points above it. Hugely varies how much one bar appears to be over the other if you're not focusing on the numbers.Already posted ?
If I already had a GTX295 or 4870X2, I wouldn't bother upgrading unless I desperately wanted DX11 or lower power consumption.
If I was buying a new card I would definitely go for the 5870.
I think it's the same situation people had when the GTX280 first came out, because it was similiar performance to a 9800GX2, with the 9800GX2 having a small lead most of the time, but this slowly changed as newer games came out, drivers matured and higher res/AA was used; i.e. the 9800GX2 quickly became obsolete compared to the GTX280.
Someone forgot the 5870 Xfire benches:
snip
over 30 fps is all you need
this looks more like it
For your minimum frame rate yes.
Not sure about these cards, was looking at benchmarks of 4870x2 and 4870 crossfire and they are very inconsistent and sometimes only just beating or on par with the GTX 280? i thought the 4870 on it's own was just as good as the 280..
ah well
Are these new 5870 cards limited on 8xPCIe2.0 ? My P45 board doesnt do 2x16xPCIe2.0 so if i did crossfire im worried it would limit me. (i know the 4870's didnt hit that limit)
not if u have a lcd tv or lcd monitor that is 100hz or 120hz or even a 200hzIf they have a LCD monitor then no, 60Hz = 60FPS max!
