The problem I have is the price for a console game compared to a PC game. I don't see what the extra £20 is going to.
To pay for the console, as they sell the console for a lose.

You can't be serious surely, you think that buying a game secondhand is as bad as pirating a game ?
XBL is only £24 a year if you know where to look, getting a game 2 days before release? Whoopie Do !
But lets just say that if his xbox goes pop, Microsoft won't repair it.
I remember seeing GTA 4 on rapidshare, it was a 64 parts in 100m file ! I'd rather pay £40 and get legit than download all that, too much hassle.
How is it not?

Seems unfair that I always have to pay it off then. That means with 10 games I have paid £200 more for my £220 console.
aren't no cd patches illegal as they circumvent data protection?
Yes. There's no benefit to buying second hand over pirating a game (apart from owning the physical packaging/manual - however that is down to personal preference), the developer and publishers don't see a penny either way.
not illegal to use or make aslong as its for backup purposes and to not dirty the disk. IIRC
Backup is illegal in the UK, although it is changing in the near future.
How is it not?
The game developers and publisher don't see any of the money and it all goes to the 2nd hand game shop. Making a profit off someone elses work.
but when you can actually afford a game their is something wrong.

The government make victimless crimes at every opportunity so naturally they are illegal.
They've already made the money from it. It can only be used by one person and it's also legal. Who buys 2nd hand games from a shop? the bay or MM is so much cheaper.
Do you think they make money off sales from the bay or MM?
