Benitez sacked!

Damnz I are too slow!
well well it's huge news... big changes at Liverpool
Have to say I am gonna miss his pure comedic gold touchline gestures and media interviews when he is agitated.

****!

Now the vultures will be all over our team, picking over the corpse. What horrible uncertain times we are now in.

H&G with an £800 million valuation and no manager. Great.

This is going to really impair Liverpool's capacity to move forward in the transfer market this summer... Not to mention long term. I really thought Benitez was gonna be staying with Liverpool for as long as Wenger at Arsenal or even Fergie at United, when he signed that 5 year contract last summer.

I wonder what percentage of liverpool fans are pleased this has happened. Last season when things were at their nadir, the majority of fans I heard on 606 were calling for his head, are they glad he's gone?

The beeb's Dan Roan was reporting that it was substantially more than the £3 mil figure being bandied around. Idk if it will ever get properly disclosed, doesn't seem likely that it will.

oh.. and you can have torres if we can have Mascherano and Gerrard.

To be honest, I expect Gerrard to go and at 30 for a decent fee I'd be quite happy with that. As much as like Benitez I actually think there's more chance of Torres and Mascherano staying now that he has gone. Torres would never, ever, go to Man Utd btw. :p

Terribe news and as I mentioned earlier, Tony Barrett is reporting that the club will only be looking to make a short-term appointment.

We're now in a state of limbo and seriously risk losing several key players.

As much as I dislike Liverpool, I still respect the team they once were and I wouldn't want to see them in ruins, which they are in danger of at the minute as you say.

A sad, sad day for reds everywhere :(

Liverpool fans must be relieved to get shot of him though :D

How so? surely the banks -have- to act then .. when the income has dropped by about ~80% compared to today.

They can believe the valuation all they want, but so long as our revinue is enough to just keep the club ticking over the banks, whist not being happy, are content to listen to and put up with broken promises again and again.

Kenny Dalglish odds on to become next Liverpool manager?!? Really?
I would love to see what Roy Hodgson could do at a club of that stature. The title race could become a lot more interesting...

He would be insane, risk ruining a reputation for the cowboys?

Its obvious whats on the cards now, no one to 'refuse' the sale of players, Cowboys can recoup what little funds they put in with their own pocket, then any sale of the club for more then the debt level is pure $$$$.

-edit-
You have to laugh at sky *rolleyes*

9am -> Players refusing to play for rafa, will request transfer if he doesnt go.
4pm -> Players gutted at sacking of rafa, expect mass exodus.
