Benitez sacked!

Yeah im well aware :p well, well aware.
Just trying to be positive! Its either that .. or cut myself :P

Just thinking to myself, are there any decent coaches out there doing a jobby at international level who might be willing to come 'fill in' for a 6-8 month period after the WC? for experience, 'The experience' or whatever with little pressure knowing their times limited anyway. Its not like theres anything else to do post WC untill the EU quali's

I'd take him. The only reason he's not a world class manager is because no one has given him a chance. He's managed to achieve something with Spurs, this is his chance to shine in the champions league and I cannot see any reason to jump ship and join us.

Roy Hodgson, perfect. (His missus is even a scouser).

Its a horrible situation. Whilst we are without a long term manager, financially unstable, our better players, especially the older ones will have to re-evalutate their situation with the club. And who would blame them?

I would hate to lose Gerrard, but i would completely understand if he moved due to the instability of the club. He is someone that deserves to win the prem. Torres stated that Rafa was a huge part in his decision to join, and Pepe signed his recent 6 year contract to mark his alliance to Liverpool, and more importantly to get behind Rafa.

Anyone coming in would want to reshape the team. They will need time, which may not practical for some in their 30's, and money,... well we all know the answer to that one.

It gets worse. What the players need right now are assurances, and they need them quick. Thats not easy when our better players are on world cup duty and probably not be allowed in depth discussion about club business. So they will 'groomed' by other players.

Its a shambles all round. Players will be wondering if Dalglish/Hodgson could create a title challenging team in the next two years, with currently no funds.

When Real, Barca, Chelsea come calling its going to be difficult to turn down, and understandably so.

At 63 Redknapp is in the last chance saloon as far as CL football goes, there is no way AT ALL he will consider going to liverpool, clearing all of Benitez' dross out and battling away to try and qualify again with no money, when he is already there, with a much higher quality squad, money to improve further and based in a much better place to live.

LOL dodgy 'Arry eh??...if anything he will definitely ruin Liverpool if hes in charge of transfers:p...

He also achieved running Pompy in to the ground ;) :p

Roy Hodgson said he had one big job left in him didn't he?

I wish he was the England manager.

The 62-year-old Swede, who is currently in charge of the Ivory Coast at the World Cup, said: "I have been a Liverpool fan all of my life.

"I never mentioned it when I was in charge of England because I didn't think it was fair. It is every manager's dream to manage Liverpool."

Eriksson has told how he used to watch Liverpool games on television at home in Sweden and how he also visited Anfield when he was learning his way as a coach.

"My father was also a Liverpool supporter and every Saturday we would watch an English match on television. It was the highlight of the week.

Hilarious, no doubt hughes will say the same this week.

That is priceless. :D

The fact that he said it to Sun aswell is quite amusing, considering he is supposedly a life long fan...

Interesting interview with Rafa and his Wife Montse from last year, gives an interesting insight into the man himself, his wife sounds nice and it sounds like they genuinely loved the club and the area, probably don't now thanks to H&G:

Traditionally so many managers become available immediately after a world cup when they leave their national positions. Will be interesting to see who will be available after this world cup

I know Sven is a curse word nowadays but being a liverpool in the 70s and 80s was normal around Europe. These were when that team owned most European stadiums.

Liverpool could well get rid of injury prone Torres and Gerrard and use the money to pay off some debt. Liverpool is full of talent. A good manager could secure the club and get it moving in the upward direction. Money doesn't buy success; what does is a good youth setup and a long term manager. Both of which liverpool could find without too much trouble given the chance
