** BENQ BL3200PT 32" 2560x1440 AMVA MONITOR NOW AVAILABLE!! **

Cos i'm trying to justify to myself that i need a new monitor and that a 32" TV doesn't cut the mustard and more... i havent gamed on a proper monitor in 6 year :o

Yeah.. You need a new monitor. And if you haven't gamed on a proper monitor for 6 years I think you'll find this one awesome in every way. :D

*I should be testing this monitor very shortly. Other things have been getting in the way. I haven't looked forward to testing a monitor as much as this one for a while so that should say something! :)

can you please specifically check for the "banding" issue?

there seem to be lighter vertical bands, which are almost invisible on a static image, but you can see them when you launch a game, i.e. something 3rd person and start moving the camera around, or you can start a mspaint window, fill with with a solid gray color and start moving it around on the desktop.

mine had this and almost drove me crazy, so i returned it....i 'd love to use this, but i'm not willing to go through the hassle of exchanges if all of them have this. would be nice if you checked yours :)

That sound very unusual. Yes I'll look out for that when I review the monitor and will let you know if I notice this. :)

The Linus review confirmed my concerns about such a large screen at 2560x1440. The very low pixel density. I remember having a 27" 1920x1200 monitors and the pixel density was poor. I would expect the same at 32" and 2560x1440.

Though I would get one of these over a 4K for gaming.

It's hardly 'very low pixel density' though is it? Linus was comparing it to some 4K monitors and probably WQHD models he'd just reviewed and clearly said it was his personal preference for a higher pixel density. The BL3200PT has exactly the same pixel density as a 24" 16:9 1920 x 1080 monitor which many users are quite happy with.

hmm, samsung seems to go out with their version as well :)

i was kinda suprised to see a samsung with a VA panel lol.

It used to be that they were very common as Samsung were in a major VA panel manufacturer themselves 'back in the day'. Now they've turned to using AUO's 'AMVA+' panels so aren't such a common sight. But their fairly recent S24C770T, S27C650D and SC750 series have been VA as well.

If you check the TFTCentral review, pixel pitch is slightly smaller than 1920x1080 27".

I'm 27" at 1080p, and the pixel pitch isn't great but it isn't terrible either. I'm looking forward to slightly increased pixel pitch if I buy this monitor :P

As I said earlier it is EXACTLY the same as a 24" 1080p. So it will be a nice upgrade for you in that department :)

I'm going to go from a 24" 1080 to this 32" 1440 for that exact reason. The pixels are small enough already, I don't want them even smaller.

Does anyone else have a view regarding this monitor, as there doesn't seem to be many. Out off the big lg's and 4K models this seem to have the least amount of problems, would be used for internet and gaming to replace the three in my sig.... really don't know what to go for.....

Brilliant screen, had mine for a few weeks now. I'm delighted with it and will probably get another at some point. Replaced my LG 34UM95 which had severe backlight bleed.

I play BF4 and Titanfall and have had no noticeable lag. The best feature for me is the customisable smart scaling which allows for a really sharp picture when upscaling 1080p from my PS4 over HDMI. The stand is also fantastic. I did prefer the higher pixel density and more vibrant colours of the LGs IPS panel but overall I think this is a better quality display.

I struggle to know what to say about the BenQ. It's a really good monitor, almost boringly good in a way because there are no big problems to talk about. It's the kind of monitor you buy, plug in, admire for a few days and then stop thinking about it because it's doing such a good job that it doesn't get in the way.

The panel is excellent; good uniformity, deep blacks, no bleed to speak of. Build quality is solid, the stand is nice and flexible and the bezel quite thin for a monitor this size.

I'm very pleased with mine. I'd been waiting for a 1440p MVA screen to hit the market and it's as good as I hoped for. The one and only caveat is that it is an MVA panel and has merely middle-of-the-road response times. Fine for 99% of users, but probably would make a rabid red bull addicted twitch gamer run right back to their 120Hz 1ms TN.

@PCM2: how's the review coming along? i'm debating whether i should pick another another one up and hope that the light bands are not as prominent or are not there at all, or wait for your review. :)

not too keen on the panel lottery....
