This monitor is now reviewed at:

http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?art=3425

They give it 10/10 in all categories.

I will be getting one but OCUK does not mention when they will be in stock.

That review was discussed earlier on in this thread, I wouldn't trust it since it misses a lot of crucial picture and connection tests. Plus it's an "exclusive" review and people say these are most likely biased.

yes but there are no other reviews to go on are there ?

No but some americans have them and their views over at hardforum.com, read that in the monitor section

Most of the views from people who have them over at hardforum.com seem positive so I am still looking forward to this and it should be a fantastic upgrade from my 19" viewsonic

I'm looking forward to an upgrade from 15.4" laptop screen :p . Hopefully the difference is MAHOOOOOSIVE!!!!!!

that dell price increase has done me a huge favour, i almost caved in just now in the news break for last samurai... came upstairs to computer to order a 2407... phewww. *continues to wait for the benq*

I'm personally about to give up with the whole 24" multimedia monitor thing. They simply aren't mature enough yet:

1st came the 2405 - slow as hell. Followed by the 244T - faster, but silly money + input lag. Then the 2407 - only one DVI input w/o 1080p HDCP and banding on the component input -still- at revision A03 (why the hell OC UK still sells the A02 is beyond me).

and now the BenQ - great PC monitor, but the 1:1 pixel thing makes it useless as anything else. The HDMI input is the biggest waste of time ever on this thing.

Having searched high and low over the last 6 months, the only multimedia monitor that does is it all and well is the 37" Westinghouse 1080p monitor.... which you can't even get in this country! to my knowledge anyway. I'm seriously considering having a US retailer ship it and hoping there's no customs issues or faults! It would be great if OC UK started importing those bad boys!

Failing that ... its wait on the fp241wz and hope to hell BenQ have listened to the huge number of complaints received regarding the 1:1 mapping.

That’s my rant over! :) btw, if anyone knows any Westinghouse importers - I'd sure like to know!

the 24" market sucks. 37 is too big IMO.

I think im just gonna get a 20" now instead. Benq dont deserve my money either, so who am i kidding that im waiting for the benq. Im waiting for the 24" that doesnt exist.

That westinghouse tv looks AWESOME, you think a 37" 1920x1080 screen is usuable as a massive PC monitor ?

The Westinghouse 37" is a monitor! it has no TV tuner on board, just a shed load of multimedia connectors and a bloody cheap price for its size (about $1100). I was concerned about the size too, then I read the Hardforum thread on it - totally sold! folks there think the size is actually a good thing - means you can sit back and relax in your chair instead of hunching over your screen.

Me want!

Edit: Just got a quote from Techonweb.com who actually ship internationally .... $1500 (£800). Christ am I tempted! Just concerned the Tax man will clobber me at customs, anyone know a way round that? if its VAT I get charged I can claim it back through my company, not sure how importing works though...

the only thing with having a bigger monitor with the same resolution is that the pixel pitch is going to be bigger, and it wont look as clear as a smaller monitor with the same amount of pixels. in the tft setup thread there is a guy with a 42" plasma as a pc screen

Considering its inputs I'd guess its 14%, then it must be considered that you have effectively got no warranty.

I looked at the westinghouse and for a while I was really tempted but the fact that I would have no warrenty on an item that has to be shipped across the atlantic before I even see it put me off.

Really nice screen though I saw one at a best buy store when I was over in the US and was so tempted to try to lug it back through customs but the missus said NO WAY so I just left it at that

Thank you ... a voice of reason! thats a total of £912 after I claim back the 17.5% VAT and a potential cost of a small fortune if it ever goes wrong. Not a good idea (unless you can afford to lose nearly £1000, which unfortunately I can't).

Westinghouse seriously need to consider going global!

You know i stopped and had a thought today... exactly why have benq offered up two versions of this monitor (ie with/without bfi)? It makes me more suspicious if the one with bfi enabled arrives just a month after the fp241w.
