BenQ G2420HDBL (LED Backlit) or BenQ G2420HD

I'm probably gonna get the normal LCD version over the LED. LED would be nice, but the lack of and HDMI port on that version puts me off a lot.

I was in the same position (wanting a HDMI), and ordered the G2420HDB because of it, but it just turned up and mine does NOT have a HDMI port. This is very odd, considering the multiple confirmed reports I've heard in other threads about HDMI on this monitor.

Wow really? :(

Thats strange. The Benq website doesn't say if it has one, but have read elsewhere that people have hooked up their 360's and PS3 using the HDMI port.

Definitely sure they didn't just send the LED model by mistake?

I'm thinking the LED panel hasnt got any HDMI ports?

The price is REALLY good for the size and features though.

What do you guys think of the Samsung P2450H compared to this?
My first post on this forums! ^_^

@Kyaw, no m8, no HDMI but then again, no speakers so DVI is equal to HDMI in respect to vid input. DVI to HDMI dongle works for PS3, I tried it.

Just got mine (LED variant) today, purchase probably biased from the comments thus far so thx for that. Swapped from a Sammy 2032BW and the difference is immense. Size apart, colours and contrast are just so much better. Out the box, was a wee bit bright for my taste but soon sorted.

So I've lost 3ms, meh, I wouldn't know, played ME2 and COD5 so far and it performs admirably. A ton fifty for this, well worth it.

Wow that's really weird that it doesn't have HDMI. I noticed somewhere it lists two versions of the HDB, one with HDMI and one without. One with was out of stock and cost more. Odd. Maybe it's the American version that has HDMI or something.

Still, I'll probably get the normal version cause it's very cheap from another place.

Hmm, could anyone take a pic of the monitor in action with a game or two please?

I would appreciate it! =D

I have a ps3 but my current is also hooked up using HDMI to DVI, and PC with analogue, analogue isnt a degrade in quality is it?

I'm debating between these two models too. Is the general concesus that the LED monitor is the better of the two?

Not sure on the differences PQ wise. Probably not a lot of difference. Power comsumption would be the only difference, LED obviously using less power.

Looks like a really good monitor, I must say. I still can't decide what to get, this makes it even harder seeing the quality of it for the price :(

Okies, me G2420HDBL turned up about an hour ago. First impressions, god it bright, you need sunglasses to look at it! Had a quick fiddle with the options in the menu, setup so far using the following:

brightness....35
contrast.......65
Picture mode.........sRGB
Dynamic contrast...off
input....................DVI

ran a monitor colour calibration app and set that up as per instructions, and dropped the brightness still further in the ATI catalyst control centre to suit (I really don't like a bright screen:p)

Comparing this screen quality with me old Dell 2209WA 16 incher (which was/is exceptional) it stacks up VERY well to it. Colours aren't quite as vibrant, but my god its close. image is just as sharp as far as I can see, whites are very "white" not yellow or creamy and text is very sharp and easy to read. Backlight bleed is only evident in a dark environment and viewing angles are very, much better than I expected for a TN panel. There is a slight light gradient between top and bottom of the screen, darker at the top, lighter at the bottom, but again a lot better than other TN panels I've owned
Would I recommend it?, not half, for the money its a no brainer as far as I'm concerned, very happy bunny here:p

im now torn between the 22" and the 24"
at current ive got an older 17" flat panel square style not wide screen, at work ive got a 19" wide screen and its massive compared to mine so wondering 22" or 24"?
