BenQ XL2730Z Freesync Owners Thread

I hope you're all still enjoying the firmware update and i'm so glad that you all agree that there has been some kind of quality increase with the picture and that it wasn't just placebo that me and a few others had seen when we got our monitors back after the update .

I just now need to stop fiddling with my setting and get on with gaming .... lol ...

brightness 75
Contrast 48
Sharpness 8
Gamma 5
colour temp user control R95/G98/B100
Colour Vibrance 15
Black Equalizer 5
blur reduction off , for web browsing
Instant mode on
AMA High
These setting are stored on my gamer 1 profile , and the ones i use for everyday use and general gaming.
My Gamer two profile is pretty much the same but with added black equalizer and brightness with a tab more contrast .

Just waiting for the fury x cards to come into stock now ..... :) , but have to make sure that the new stock has got the pump wine fixed and that there are other problems with it .

Should just get a Fury X scramz amazing monitor is already in place.

I did wait mate, when they was released I decided to switch. Got a bit bored of AMD. Don't get me wrong I am not bashing AMD I like them, just fancied a try with Nvidia. I seems to had less issues with them in the past.

I may come back to AMD on the next gen.

I have boxed this monitor up sitting in the corner now I have a Gsync. I will eBay it when I get a chance.

Its Monday now, distributor just got them today (instead of yesterday), so be Monday when my mates get it for me to pick up, so could be a good chance of a v2, if its new stock his distributor has just gotten in :)

Blimey, brightness 75 for desktop usage, doesn't that hurt your eyes after a while?

No not at all Nails ,But I'm in a very light room ,I'm just 2 meters away from massive windows in my dining room at the back of my house, so maybe that's why it doesn't seem to bright for me , even at 100 brightness isn't to much in the day , but at night is a different matter altogether so i find that if i stay in the 70s is good for both day and night :) ;);)

Thanks!
I like your setting copied most of it apart from colour vibrancy might need to try it ingame though. Desktop usage I would dial down vibrancy to 10 or 11 personally.

RMA logged on wednesday and they wanted to pick up today but had to reschedule, so the within 24h reported previously in the thread is true! they work fast.
I booked for collection on Monday instead.

Ah fair enough, my office is fairly dark and I normally have the blinds closed so not much external light. I'm only using brightness 30 and even with that some webpages with large white areas still seem too bright!

You know what Nails , i've just turned down my brightness now to 30 for the last few minutes and it still looks great ,, so i suppose its just the case as what you find right for yourself ,, but i could definitely live with 30 too and if anything i think it makes the text on webpages look better with a lower level.

Before this monitor i used to use a 32 inch LG LCD TV and that thing was bright , i think i must off got use to a high brightness level , so when i swapped to this screen the 1st thing i did was to crank up the brightness.

When i first got it i ran with 100 brightness lol , but as time passes i keep knocking it down lower and lower . ;);)

I had the same issue, came from a 32" Philips LCD so at first everything seemed very dark and muted but I think my retinas really appreciate not being seared anymore :P

Of course, people keep harping on about things of yesteryear though, much like how it goes for 'AMD drivers'. Truth is, unless you have the monitors side-by-side, you can barely tell a difference.

So, my finger is hovering over the buy button, but I have a concern...

I plan to run this alongside my 4K monitor, with this as my primary display.
I currently have a 23" 120Hz Samsung monitor running as a secondary display with my 4K monitor. If I reverse them to make the 120Hz display the primary monitor the 60Hz 4K display gets quite jerky. It's worse when dragging a window from the 120Hz display to the 60Hz display but is noticeable on the 60Hz display all the time.

Has anyone else got a similar setup and noticed anything like this with when using the BenQ? (Obviously I'm expecting the BenQ to be fine, it's the other screen I'm expecting the issue on)

Not sure if it's similar I got this as main monitor and a 23" 120hz possible the same you got as a 2nd monitor. Works fine no jerks.

I wonder if it's just much less obvious, going from 144Hz to 120Hz than 120Hz to 60Hz.
Could you try lowering the refresh rate on the 120Hz to 60Hz and see if it becomes noticeable?

If I match refresh rates or have the main monitor as the lower one it's fine.

I'm also on Win7 with AMD GPUs, in case that makes a difference.
