Best FO3 Mods?

Ah, was looking for something with look down sights :D

Is it any good? Or is it buggy / off in any way?
The latest release is near perfect, with the occasional glitch when aiming while crouched. It mods all vanilla weapons, and there are quite a few other weapons available that are compatible. Also has in-game settings for hand drift, etc.

Improves the game by a huge margin, makes weapons like the pistol and hunting rifle a lot easier and more fun to use.
 
can you give us a few instructions all this merged patch stuff is confusing :o

Basically just dl everything from the Fallout Nexus. Make sure you also get the Fallout Mod Manage (FOMM), Fallout Script Extender (FOSE) and Fallout 3 Edit (FO3Edit). I'm not sure its necessary, but i think its supposed to help with stability or something... tbh i'm not sure i'm doing it right.

Essentially you just add everything in the order it says on the FWE page on Nexus since it includes the load order for FWE, EVE, Project Beauty, WMK, MMM and DarnUI and tells you where to activate any other mods. Think WMK is included in FWE so no need to dl it.

Gah i'm been a tit, i was loading everything up in FO3Edit (which on the bright side at least lets you check if things conflict or are incomplete) but i wasn't creating a merged patch, thought something was up.

Hopefully it should make things more stable.
 
How do you install mods?
IronSights in particular has me confused.
And MartsMod has me worried with the crashes if done incorrectly and possible issues with Vista.

So, a mini-walkthrough would be cool :)

Most mods = Copy entire folder to the Fallout 3/Data folder and merge/replace everything. (that means .esm, .esp, texture, mesh, etc files. common sense can hopefully be applied if the folder is named 'data')

FOMM files put in the Fallout 3/fomm/mods file and activate through FOMM and the package manager.

Project Beauty will conflict with any other mods that edit NPCs apparently, you have the mmm atleast.

Aside from a couple in a different order early on the only thing i can see missing is the Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch support (UFP Support.esp) for FWE. If that doesn't work try saving the load order and loading up with vanilla + DLC, and add in some of the big patches like FWE and MMM and see which 1 is failing to startup.

Fallout 3 Interoperability Patch (FOIP) stops that. Thats why MMM has a couple of files named project beauty. There shouldn't be any problems with those working together, nor any others.

AII comes with recent versions of the FOMM (or FOSE) as far as i know so that shouldn't be a problem.

Edit: Hmm i can't seem to find it anymore... i swear my AII came with something because i remember downloading it and not needing to use it.

Seems my DC Interiors is working after all, just with so much of DC it took a while to find an area that had been done. In the end i had to fight through Capitol Building and into Seward Square.
