Best FO3 Mods?

sorry to hijack thread but I have a problem with my game on fo3 atm where I am level 17 fiend ( very evil ), last level I chose the contract killer perk and when I got to 17 I chose the lawbringer perk.

But, whenever I go to Regulator HQ and try to enter the building the game CTD, and even if stand near to Regulator HQ and try to quick save or normal save the game CTD. I haven't been abel to find any info on the net but could it be because you aren't supposed to have both perks?

I can still play the game but I have now wasted a perk since I cannot get into the gaff to hand in my fingers

Hey all. Tried reading the topic but it seems all over with regards to recommendations so ill ask somit specific to me.

I have fo3 vanilla and would like to improve the textures and models of the guns, the peoples faces (too ugly atm) and lighting and a good hud scale to fit 1920x1080p.

Is their a mod pack all done for something like this i can just extract to the games install directory or somit. If not can someone help by stating the things i need and how to get it all installed and working without conflicts.

Well theres Project Beauty which improves the look of NPCs. Couldn't say for the gun textures but theres almost certainly some mods if you look around the Falloutnexus. I'm sure the game has a large graphics upgrade too i just can't remember what its called.

Its not likely to be because you took both otherwise there would certainly be someone else with it. It could just be a random glitch whereby you CTD whenever you go near a certain location, i had the same with the station directly north of Rivet City and the only way i could enter Rivet City was by teleporting myself to an NPC inside, going within site of the station crashed it. It eventually sorted itself out so you might just have to bear with it for now.

Or failing that just search for the console commands list and remove that perk and give yourself another 1 appropriate for your level.

Managed to get the hud mod installed and works ok. Nice to have em a bit smaller as i wasnt a fan of the oversized hud blocking large parts of the screen.

Just need to figure out the texture mods for global face changes, global landscapes, global guns. Then i should be set. Might try the lighting mod but duno kinda makes the game look like normal days instead of radioactive war lookin days.

Ah yeah I could teleport myself in there!! Gotta love our PCs. Couldn't do this on consoles!!

And my last save that doesn't CTD when I try to is about 6 hours played time behind

I had noticed a few problems with this and SLI, but it only started after about 10 hours of play, where the GFX Drivers would crash and I would get a message telling me so.

So I disabled SLI and it didn't happen again. But then the random CTD started to happen, then the regulator HQ thing, now I can't fast travel anywhere all of a sudden, oh, and now it seems that I can't enter anywhere not just regulator HQ...

GRRR really wanted to play through this game again before NV is out and it just being a pain in the arse...

I'd just go back to that old save and verify integrity. Sounds like something has screwed up badly.

I did go back to that save. And it seems fine now.

I put some of those mod on that were listed above and it looks even better now!!

And here are my list of mods, so we keep this thread on topic.
