Best Retro Handheld

Those who got a Retroid Pocket 5, can I get some real world pics? I know I don't want pure white, black is the logical but most boring choice. 16-bit is my favourite currently and GC colour is tempting but not my era.

I ordered purple, it certainly has shipped.
CNE Express. So far

Someone on Reddit just got a red one, and it looks less like the Burgundy red on the website but more like a red brick colour in real life. I guess it is a red brick after all!

Not a fan!

I don't bother with screen protectors generally and I can't see this being an exception. I just got a message today saying mine cleared customs. Got my dual pack of memory cards too.

Ordered the RP5 yesterday, shipping notification today!

Also, the $10 discount code RP5SAVE10 still works.

The TrimUI's screen some reason picks up on smudge easier than a normal screen, a glass screen protector just helps with that.

Heh. I thought you was getting a handheld potentially delivered yesterday? Or the festive cheer has addled the brain, which is a certainty at this point.

Oh sorry I thought you meant there was some bonus because I ordered it around Christmas and some sellers were offering an extra.
No, it only just reached the hub yesterday so there was no chance of getting it. It'll probably be before the 3rd of January though, which was the original estimate :)

I meant had I ordered the device perhaps just one day earlier then it may have been delivered on that day rather than just reach the evri hub.

Hello and merry Christmas. Having received as presents from myself the RP5 and the Odin 2 Pro, my initial thoughts are I'm preferring the Odin 2. I think this is mostly down to how it feels in my hands. I don't have big hands but find the RP5 a little too small for comfortable gaming sessions. And also the stick placements feel a bit weird but I knew about this. The screen on the RP5 is of course amazing as it's Oled but honestly the Odin 2 Pro has a lovely screen too although it's only ips I believe. It's early days I might change my mind but if not I might end up selling the RP5 and my RG Cube on sometime. Performance wise I'm still setting up retroarch and been using dolphin for GC emulation, noticed a bit of slowdown whilst driving in Simpson's but and run on RP5 but could just be I'm not configured yet. Maybes if I can find some extended grip type things that go on the RP5 like I've seen for other devices that may help? But yeah the Odin 2 Pro just feels solid and much more closer in my hands to my Steam deck to me. But lots to setup on both devices so I'll let you know. :)

Hi people

Which retro handhelds have very big screens? (I have poor eyesight)

I'm only interested in playing the classic mario/sonic games.

Got mine today, just going to follow along with that guide. Only thing so far I'm not a fan of is having the SD card stick out from the bottom, would be far better if it was totally enclosed in the unit.

Oh, it's just a push and eject thing. Most of them are like that. The only one that has an actual cover is my Retroid Flip.

The "worst" one is the Miyoo A30. I am not sure if it is my unit or the micro SD card that I use but the actual SD card sticks out by about 0.01mm, my skin can feel it grazing the SD card as I move my fingers over it.
