Best Retro Handheld

Oh, it's just a push and eject thing. Most of them are like that. The only one that has an actual cover is my Retroid Flip.

The "worst" one is the Miyoo A30. I am not sure if it is my unit or the micro SD card that I use but the actual SD card sticks out by about 0.01mm, my skin can feel it grazing the SD card as I move my fingers over it.

Nah it was me, I didn't realise it wasn't in properly lol.

Haha, see you on the other side!

I'm following the guides you gave me but ignoring the PICO 8 and Arcade stuff as I have no idea about any of that. Probably just will do the 3 gameboy variants, PSX (but cant see me enjoying using those rear buttons), SNES, and maybe some of the Sega stuff.

I did the same. PICO-8 requires you to spend about £15 on their site in order to get the bios and the games.

The Gameboy, SNES, Mega Drive and a couple of PS1 games are plenty.

Yeah, was surprised not to see the PSP as a default folder though, is it not powerful enough to run that? Actually on that video it doesn't have the Megadrive either but it has Dreamcast lol.

It does run PSP games, but not all of them.

That's fine, just seemed weird that the default folders for MINUI missed so many systems I thought were of the same era like Game Gear etc lol. Was confused why there were way fewer bios folder than there are for the actual roms.

Edit: OH I see some stuff just works without a BIOS like SNES. Added a few bits in for various systems and all working well, cool device. Only annoyance (minor) is I need to use a USB adapter now to add ROMS as MINUI doesn't have that USB storage option from what I see.

Tried both USB ports?

Yeah, my PC makes a noise like it recognises something plugged in but don't see it in drive list. It's fine, minor annoyance. Only other gripe is the brightness, I know screen goes darker when you select scan life effects but it's a bit too dark, still, for £50 very good! Oh and the one PSX game I tried just doesn't load but I'll try some others.

Edit: User error, didn't realise I had to unzip them
Edit 2: Just saw there is a shortcut to change brightness lol.

Someone bought a black and purple one each and swap the buttons. They don't come like that.

As for Amiga games, if you have the Bios and the Rims, it should work. However! There is no guarantee. Best play to ask is the TrimUI Brick Sub Reddit.

Amiga is not as popular world wide or in the US so there is less community support.

I got an RG405M for Christmas and I am a bit disappointed. It's just as capable as my RGXX35H in PS1 emulation but isn't really powerful enough for PS2 games - even my PAL games. The only thing that works well (not that I have tested loads) is GTA SA which is a 25fps game. I should have researched more really!

I had one a while back and returned it due to the weird over sharpening Anbernic applied. Gamma put out a fix but it was a pain as you had to flash the device with some script which at the time couldn't be undone, not sure if things have improved since.

Some Amiga games are harder to run the hardest to emulate PS1 games, Amiga CD even harder. Around 1.8Ghz is required to emulate games like Turrican II.
Amiga games run quite well on the TrimUI Brick and look fantastic.

I'm unlikely to play anything except turn-based games for PS1 because the ergonomics just don't end themselves for anything else but that's ok, didn't really get it for that.

What device? I use my Brick for Chronomatic Tetris, Mortal Kombats, Dos games (e.g. Skyroads) Sonic CD, Mario Kart, Tapper, Neo Turfmasters, Tekken 3. The is endless from GB > PS1 really

Yeah the Brick, I find it awkward to use the back buttons which is fine, well not so much the L1/R1, the 2's.
