Best savings account?

Question... I had a cash isa earlier this financial year , but didn't contribute anything into it , and then closed it.... I believe I could open another one now before end of tax year, is that correct? Or do I have to wait until the next year starts?

Thanks

You can open it now, the limit is the amount of deposits per financial year AFAIK.

Just looking at this article and it appears that it was a bit of a hassle but now simplified? Is it now a case of opening a single account and sending in the cash to earn interest monthly, with unlimited withdrawals?

Correct. It's now just a straight forward savings account that you can deposit and withdraw as needed with no penalties.

I see it requires a current account with them too, which isn't great for me as I won't have any use for another CA.
Just don't use it. It is very unintrusive, and costs nothing. In fact it can give you 1% cashback/5% on roundups if you do decide to use it and have nothing alternative/better.

It really doesn't matter how many you have but I know these things can keep folk up at night. I'd personally just take the 3% interest and not worry about it :)

I'm sure it would be fine, but I already have current accounts with Starling, BOS, Monzo and Revolut.

Is that all :p

Think I have ended up with a mix of ~24 current and savings accounts over 12 different banks. Mainly due to all the switch rewards and current account offers over the last 12 years of no interest rates.

It doesn't keep me up at night (I don't think I'll ever get your "style" of posting), I just don't want to increase the amount I have if there is an alternative - and it looks like there is.

However, thanks for the info and I'm not ruling Chase out completely. :)
