Best video doorbell....

Well you're talking about privacy... I'm pointing out that most video from doorbell cameras is of a public street where you have none. I can walk up to you in the street and take your picture, and there's little you can do about it. Why are you getting your knickers in a twist about video of a similar environment?

I'm not saying it's right, I don't know the whole Eufy story.. But it doesn't seems worth worrying that much about who's looking at your footage if it's a public area anyway. Heck, Google Street View cars drive down taking pictures of everyone's houses all the time. But if it's a private drive then yeah, sure...

Why not do some research about the Eufy stuff? It's more than just privacy matters...

Definitely tempted by the Eufy 2K doorbell but does anyone know if I can simply add other cameras (internal or external) using the same base station??
Eufy's ecosystem is a bit messy, some camera support the base station, others record locally and won't store on the base station. I think the new Hub 3 was meant to sort this but it's expensive.

My knickers aren't in a twist, they're around my ankles because I'm having a ****.

Have Google.
Have 3 cams and 1 doorbell. Cams are very expensive now but very good. Doorbell? It's generally good. But it did not go off for a super important delivery once. And it can be a bit slow to notify on the indoor speakers.

I like the look of it.

If I was getting stuff now? Probably eufy, the security isn't an issue for me. And Google subscription is a bit pricey. I actually have the free service. But it's only 3 hours of history with that. A bit naff for security if something happens over night.

with that sort of data, people can see when you leave your house etc

:)
I have 5 CCTV cameras, a Ring, all my doors are wired to an alarm, my gates are padlocked so the only access is the front door etc so they're willing to try.
They have first got to notice when I leave, then my daughter and then my wife - they will get very bored.

Its more than just privacy but the lies and decietfulness...

They also store your face id etc in the cloud as well as your wife and daughter too.

I am not sure why you wold be ok with that but each to there own.

You need to stick a pin in a hole underneath, plus they would be captured in the act on video.
Also, if the stolen camera is then paired with another setup, you will loose access to all the footage from that camera.
I went through all this with Eufy support and I still haven't decided which doorbell to get

Can anyone educate me as to the difference between the Eufy 2k video doorbell that comes with the base station as opposed to the 2k doorbell that comes with the plug-in chime?

Am I right in thinking that the base station is solely for connecting multiple devices (ie. another doorbell or additional cameras) whereas the plug in chime (which is actually a little more convenient for me because of where I'd want it to be in the house) is simply paired to the one device??

The eufy homebase stores video too

The homebase 3 is overkill for me and I've not really got a spot to put the homebase 2 whereas the chime will slot straight into the wall.

Another benefit of the chime is that the storage is a removable sd card and so I could just slot a 128gb in myself!
