Best way to loose the belly!!

cutting the booze for 4 weeks decreases my waist by over 2 inches, and i mean JUST cutting the booze, its truly ridiculous. 4 pints is about the same Kcal as a bag of chips and if like me at my worst you would drink up to 8 per night sometimes you can imagine that it somewhat accumulates.

Cutting down on the drinking is the best thing i coulda done for my weight, taking up and doing well at bodybuilding is just the icing on the cake really.

4 pints the same as a bag of crisps? i would have thought it would be more than that

ps. started with some light exercise last night. walked a costal path from my place to the beach and back. 6miles in total. up hill a lot of the way. was more of a fast paced walk to get the heart going for abit. tonight im going over the park (live oppersite :p) and going to do the sprinting thing using a rugby pitch :)

LOL LOL LOL :D:D:D Love it! :D

whilst i appreciate the giggle at the potential spot reduction philosophy he's not being 100% retarded. You or I or any of the other BB lot have great abs, whether or not we can see them they are there and they are powerful. This is because we squat heavy and we do other heavy exercises that engage the abdominals.

Average joe nobody will not have. When the abdominal wall is weak and underdeveloped the stomach can protrude of its own accord even where bodyfat is low. simply developing abdominals capable of something like 50 sit ups at a single sitting or in one set would bring most sedentary peoples stomachs in and help improve posture.

However as FF well knows (hence the mocking laughter) this is ONLY the case where bodyfat is already low essentially you would see abs but on a rounded stomach which is very rare. Most people are just plain fat and no amount of sit ups alone will fix that.

Yes - it was a bit unfair to laugh like that, as he's right to a point getting the core/abdominal wall up to strength will improve posture and perhaps bring the belly in a bit. However it will not reduce the fat or make his belly look "toned" which I had assumed was the comment made - if it wasn't I apologise!

I seldom do ab work, mainly core strength lifts and they're remarkably developed furthermore my posture is good - however some ab work can help.

I am loosing my belly now and I still eat normal, sometimes I am eating at 9-10pm too, cycling seems a good way, 20-30 miles a day with 60-100 miles on a saturday has helped me loose weight a lot, also fun, proberbly would have lost the belly even faster if I ate salad all the time.

well went for a 6mile walk wedneday, 2 mile run last night, plus situps etc

cutting beer. and sticking with vodka ;)

Thats actually a good plan, like you i struggle quitting drink entirely, my big treat is like 4 cans of speckled hen or something, gimmie that over a cheeseburger any day! I'm weining myself onto vodka and diet coke which is very low in cals. Although im pretty much off the booze totally now.

I was never a big drinker so it was quite easy for me. I haven't had a drink in 6 months or so. I've been tempted to have a glass of red wine from time to time, I'm desperately trying to find out whether or not it's ok to do that without undoing all my hard work!

wine is ok really, but ideally of course youd keep off all of it, dout 70cals a glass for red

I have managed to loose 10lb in 6 weeks :o just by changing a few things...

Stopped the sugar in tea/coffee and I now only drink sugar free juice.
Started eating breakfast i never could because it always made me feel a little sick, now i manage two weetabix a day :)
Stopped eating junk before i go to bed, if i am hungry i eat fruit or low fat yogurts

The hardest thing i have done is cut white bread, i used to eat loads of it, now i limit myself to 1 or 2 slices a day and eat fruit if i still feel hungry.

It seems to be working & I still boose (lots) at the weekend.
