Best youtubers to follow?

I initially thought watching other people play seems strange, however, it is great for discovering new games and looking for inspiration.

Pudd'n Neil - Arma video's, very funny, don't take themselves or the game seriously. One video where they limited themselves to fighting with pistols only, never tried it myself until watching the video, great fun!

SideStrafe - Great for discovering new games, for example, I had never heard of 'Sir You Are Being Hunted' a great little game of stealth.

This isnt a troll post, but why watch somebody else play a game? Just play the games yourselves surely.

Baffles me that these guys make money from just playing the game and slapping it on youtube.

I can imagine watching a tournament possibly, if it was a skillful game. But watching someone play random games of anything really just sounds unappealing.

Do you watch football or any other sport on tv??? How is it any different??

I see you mention that you can understand watching a skilled game, but someone may be rubbish at any game and want to see how someone else does it :)

For me its

The Mighty Jingles
Quickybaby
Circonflexs
Nerd3
Scott Manley
DaSquarillsnuts

plus a few of my clan mates make videos from our World of Tanks games if they are funny or worth doing with

N.b - look out for World of Tanks:Arty Goes Hulk mode

Should be up soon

Cr1TiKaL is without a doubt the funniest youtuber out there. Robbaz is awesome as well.

For lets plays Gopher, I'm a big fan of Elder Scrolls/Fallout.

Maximusblack is one of my favourites. He does youtube and twitch. I've been watching him for nearly 3years now.

I find it depends on what games you are into, I personally watch a lot Dota 2 channels.

I recently started watching some ChristopherOdd playthroughs, which are pretty good. He's not got a massive following but he can be pretty amusing; his Half Life playlist, although frustrating at times, was quite funny.

Sips - best of the Yogscast folks and my favourite gaming youtuber
Seananners - Funny as all hell
The Mighty Jingles - interesting to listen to for World of Tanks stuff
Quickybaby - comes over as slightly arrogant but is very good for WoT stuff
Circonflexs - WoT stupidness :)
Sidestrafe - all sorts of military sim/arcade
BirgirPall - lots of lols
NerdCubed - tries a bit too hard to be funny but is entertaining
Hat films - funny bunch of guys
Robbaz - King of Sweden, obsessed with walrus

On the whole most of them I watch because they're funny/stupid, there are a couple serious ones but in general I don't take gaming too seriously.

I want to like Total Biscuit, but the more I watch, the more I think he just goes against the grain to be controversial and get views, yeah. Like his video on Bioshock Infinite, yeah. He moans about every little insignificant thing he can find for an hour and admits he has not even played the whole game, yeah. He also admits he has been playing it on and off while doing other stuff, which is totally the wrong way to play a story driven game, yeah.

I hate you Mark! I literally had never even noticed and now IT'S ALL I CAN HEAR..... yeah.

Mark plier is rather good when you get past his weird voice and serious over acting issues. He absolutely pounds the indie horror market and has played pretty much every new modern horror game in existence. Hes usually bang on with recommendations as well.

I use to enjoy angryjoe reviews but hes pretty much forgotten about his youtube subs over the last 2 months having done 1 paltry review and thats it. Hes absolutely pounding twitch, but in my opinion, I don't think hes interesting enough for a twitch stream a few nights per week anyway.

I know this is an really old post but going to reply to it regardless. Because people either don't have the need, interest, money, time to buy games and play them. Maybe they like that particular personality play it when a game usually boring otherwise.

For example my one my favourite youtubers is Jesse Cox is co-oping Resident Evil 6. Now that game is dull as dishwater and would never dream of playing it.. but watching it, especially with Jesse's sense of humour. Yeah, every day.

All I can say is, that at least he is co-oping it, with someone other than crendor, seems when they work together, it makes beavis and butthead look sophisticated. A shame, because on his own, Jesse is quite watchable (albeit a little ott sometimes).

Even though I have well over 1000hrs (each) on Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas, I still watch Gopher's playthroughs - I find more enjoyment through watching the adventures of Richard the Librarian and his faithful (and rarely sober) companion Kharjo than watching TV. :D

I'm not into the shouty try hard crowd. Angry Joe just makes me angry.

I prefer the yogscast guys, and regularly watch sips do his thing with random games. I really enjoyed his don't starve play through actually.

It's been more like a year since he's done much on YT. Probably only 3 or 4 reviews since last summer.

He was easily my favourite youtuber and, in fact, was why I started watching youtube at all (started with one of his "worst games of 20xx" vids). It's a shame that he's moved almost his whole gig over to Twitch - I don't watch Twitch at all, and don't really have the time to watch live streams.
