Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F | Netflix

Decent enough, not quite the level say of a Top Gun Maverick but whenever I watch the first 3 movies again I will happily watch the 4th movie as well.

Murphy and Levitt were good on screen together and it was nice to see everyone again, the chemistry was still there. Usual issues with modern actions films, too much CGI gunfire means the gun fights have that tame feel to them but it was nice to see mostly live action for all the chase scenes.

If you have a Netflix account its an enjoyable 2 hours.

Was a fun watch. The cast was pretty good, JGL was great. Vast improvement on the pile of excrement that is the third one. Thought the slo-mo scene at the end was a bit pants though.

Literally just finished watching it. It's very entertaining. 7.5/10

Edit - just seen the other 7.5 scores! Coincidence.

And yeah, it retains the feel and tone of the originals.

Enjoyed that, plenty of funny scenes (serge was wasted tho) good fun Thankfully I was wrong! Loads better than 3. Apparently they are working on a 5th

I'm old enough to have seen the first two films at the cinema and we used quote lines from Delirious all the time. So I was quite looking forward to this.

I have to say I thought it was bang average at best.

The action was below par compared to almost any modern action film, save for the helicopter sequence, that was decent.

Eddie's humour is stale, dated and not particularly funny anymore. Although it seems to work in the Shrek films.

At least Kevin Bacon managed to say in shape.

It was OK, nothing special. Standard Netflix fare. Big name actors and/or IP, lacklustre execution in bringing it up to modern times.

I watched 1 and 2 last week, and this is not as good. So many things I give the original films a "pass" for I can't for a film made in 2024!

Story was weak, no big deal in the 80s, but I have higher expectations these days.
Billy and Taggart were barely in it, and looked to be struggling to move (expected due to their age).
Kevin Bacon is great, but he didn't put in a lot of effort imo. He was almost a comedy villain, compared to the bad guys in 1 & 2.
Gordon Levitt was great.
Gun/shooting scenes were better than the 80s movies.
Car chase/carnage in the opening scene was just as brutal as the original films!

Film 1: 8/10
Film 2 8/10
Film 3: so bad
Film 4: 6.5/10 I cannot think of any reason to re-watch it.

I can't see there being a 5th film. Existing main cast are too old (and nostalgia isn't enough for the next film) and no new characters were setup to "pass the baton" so to speak.
