BF Hardline Visceral Games

You may be waiting a while

DICE are currently working on Star Wars battlefront, that will be again rushed to make sure it beats COD to market and go on sale in October 2015.

EA release an FPS game every October so the next game after that will alternate back to visceral again in 2016. So don't expect to see the next proper battlefield game until 2017.

That's fine by me, i'm ok to wait. I have enough games to get on with and i'll keep going back to BF4 for the next couple of years.

if we are talking about the same video - its not an A10
it looks like the scaled composites firebird surveillance plane

Plane spotter points go to you there, defo not an A10, had to watch it on a 21" screen to see that though, looked like an A10 on my mobile.

Either way do the Police have these that are equipped with front facing guns.

i would have thought after the debacle of B4, they would have dropped the 'Battlefield' name
and called it something else and then said something along the lines of "by the team that brought you Dead Space" etc
this could be amazing and myself and many others will be put off by the name Battlefield and EA together
im not buying it at launch.. no way pedro!
after spending like £60 for B4 and Premium.. EA still owe me about £60 before i think about spending a single penny another EA Title

All these people going "EA still owes us money, r-right guys?" No, they don't, even if the game is buggy. You should have been alerted by the countless posts on internet forums about the current state of the game, and should have avoided it as a result, but you still insist on buying it. And if you per-ordered it, well, are you really that desperate to have the ability to have a game day one, and not wait just a few hours to see how the game turns out?

...onto the game. Being a Battlefield game absolutely ruins it for me, there is no sense of realism or involvement in the heists. They just don't look authentic at all. When was the last time you saw low life criminals having airplanes and military grade helicopters and weapons at their disposal? If it took away the whole "ooh look at me I'm a Battlefield (TM) game, I've got big explosions!" approach, it could be a lot better.

Im surprised people are comparing it to PayDay, when theres 1 game which is huge and its almost a carbon copy of. I dub the Grand Theft Battlefield!

Thats exactly what this is, but with the cop role available too. Huge open world, urban combat, with all the criminal jobs you'd expect from a GTA title. I wasnt convinced about this to begin with, but i think it might actually be alright if they can fix everything which is fundamentally wrong with BF4 (no easy task).
If you ignore the 'Battlefield' branding, which is there purely to increase sales and awareness, and accept it as an alternative to GTA5 (a game we may never get on PC) then this could be a lot of fun.

Its not battlefield, so forget about that.
Its as much Battlefield as the Need for Speed series, with Shift, Carbon/Underground, & Hot Pursuit flavours. They're entirely different games for different things, this may be how they're intending to branch things. So instead of having a MoH, BF & [C&R title], they're all Battlefield [: Something].

Wha? Did you even see that announcements, watch the leaked videos? It's just a reskined version of Battlefield but with some heist themed maps/gamemodes.

Reminds me of the days when you could mod Battlefield games, and somebody somewhere would make a very niche mod that they really wanted to play and perhaps a few others, but everyone else would just look and quickly move on to the next mod.

Maybe not open world, but they're certainly not just regular sized BF maps.

That 1 video is talking about 1 location, Omaha. Thats a heck of a lot of variety to throw into a BF sized map. To me it looks like its far more open and varied, with similar locations (most likely scaled down drastically) to GTA5, with trailer parks, downtown industrial area, high society living and shopping etc.
Its a heck of a lot for 1 BF sized map. Somewhere like the Shanghai map, looks like it could be comparable to the inner-city portion of that video, in terms of quantity and variety of similarly themed buildings. Assuming theres a bank in that region, a town hall, and probably more, thats a decent size, and thats just a portion of what was shown in that video. The only similar level of variety you tend to get in BF maps is like Metro, park, subway, inner city. But they're tiny, narrow and certainly nothing like what those videos showed.

So maybe it wont be open world, but it certainly looks like the locations are on a scale far bigger than we're used to seeing.

Id love to see them take this in an MMO direction, with a GTA5 sized map and allowing hundreds of people within the city in grouped pockets, so you're only online with people in your general area. I dont know if this is anything like that, but i think it'd make for a fun experience.

Ehm, i think Omaha is a code name for the game, not one of the maps....

ah ok. I'd initially heard that was believed to be one of the names of the maps in the game, Havana being another iirc.

If its just BF doing PayDay, then that goes back to my initial impression that i didnt see how it was going to work. PayDay works because your up against a far bigger police force of AI opponents. If its say 10v10 all human, or even mixed with AI, its going to be unrealistic in terms of comparative forces the police would have available in such a situation, and if you have it 4v10 human, it'd feel like baserape @ locker and it'd be no fun.

So if thats multiple playable maps based on 1 fictional city, it really makes it hard to understand how some of those modes would work, that car chase game-mode being a perfect example.
