BF Hardline Visceral Games

And who said anything about the youtubers making games ? they aren't making them. They're giving feedback on behalf of the community as to what will and won't work. Visceral can chose to ignore that feedback as they wish. It may make no difference at all - the game can and likely still will be poor, but developers don't set out to make crap games.

They are helping with decisions and "behalf of the community" is a very lose term.

The BF community is changing and the fault of that lies with EA/DICE. Adding all these noob crutches was intentional to chase COD sales and it has affected the game for the worse. The veteran community are wondering what the **** is going on and the new post BC2 community are jumping for joy.

I can imagine the feedback now:

JF- Make sure you add some puzzle oriented Easter Eggs which then reveal themselves in DLC. The Derpalodon populated and created so many Paracel Storm servers whilst phanthom assignments created lots of boosting servers nd when the reveal was in Naval Strike my viewer count and subscriptions went through the roof which will mean more Premium and DLC sales for you.

EA/DICE: Wow Jack, we can't do this without you. Have you any ideas for what we should include and what references it should attribute to? You've nailed the idea, we love it!!! Here is some extra money for you and have some Keys to give away to your subscribers. Remember to keep positive about the game in your early videos as we do not like negative press.

JF- Rodger that.

** An orgy session then takes place. **

LevelCap - Just make the game Tactic00l and not tactical.

EA/DICE: That is what we intend to do, more lock on weapons, more ways to bring down choppers, more gizmos. We will make it so gizmos are unbalanced so it makes unlocks fun for a few weeks, a patch will later fix it so make sure you get coverage and we will tell you when we do this. Remember to keep positive about the game in your early videos as we do not like negative press.

OMG! Really??????

It's based on Frostbite 3. It'll have the same underlying code. You can see the same ****ing assets being used. So it'll have the same problems. Awful hitreg. Poor collisions. Crashes.

You people drive me mad. Buy your game. Pre-order at full price. And cry and moan when it turns out to be a pile of ****!!!!!

+1

Cool off fella, your going to give yourself a migraine...

I have no plans to buy this game. All I was pointing out is that DICE are not responsible for the game, yet all the hate was directed at them. Frostbite3 has it's problems but personally I think they come as a result of EA forcing rushed deadlines on them. DICE have released very good games in the past.

Okay... calm. No offence to you in particular intended

DICE have made GREAT games but not anymore. No EA published AAA title has been any good in the last two years. Or at least the dodgy flops are in the huge majority

This has got nothing to do with the community and everything to do with the fact that EA bought out DICE and turned them into another development house to turn out a new game every 2 years and churn out DLC.

DICE went on record slating COD and said they'd never charge for DLC, then had to do a U turn on that and produce BF3 - that DICE had been hinting at for years but never actually made. Then 2 years after that comes BF4.

We'll never publicly know how that went, but there's no doubt in my mind that DICE never made that decision consciously and said "*** the fanbase" and made the U turn. That decision was made for them by the execs at EA.

Just as long as there is DLC for new special helmets and there are exploding oil drums at random intervals, i'm in. Like what more could one want?

Better yet, there could be a cameo from the two guys in Army Of Two... maybe DLC that as well.

Stick some dubstep hip hop in it maybe. Perfect.

Rob, I can't believe after all the crap that has been going on with the battlefield franchise since BF3. That you can stick up for these well known you tubers and claim the game was only really bad when it was released.

Come on man, don't for ****** sake tell me your going to pre order this pile of garbage, or is it because of the lack of titles on crapbox one that you feel you need something new to play.

I'm looking on this a preview of what DICE's quality will be like for the next Battlefront game.

You don't need to look at hard line to preview dice's upcoming work of Battlefront, just look at BF4 - Dice were working on BF4 whilst still working on battlefront.

If battlefront is bugged to hell like BF4, I think Dice will be doomed as EA have a lot riding on that having acquired the licensing rights for the SW universe from Disney.

I won't pre order it or hard line as Dice / EA are masters of spin, they will make anything garbage look good in a trailer. They have done it time and time again with their trailers for upcoming games and their paid You tubers giving them exposure and people fall for the same old trick.

I've said the game quite possibly can be and will likely be garbage. Its a CS clone made on the frostbite engine with some stuff copied and pasted from battlefield and battlefield stuck in the title to make it sell. I'm not pre ordering and likely won't even buy it. I'm still open minded about battlefront as I did enjoy the last one, but I'm going to do what I did with watch dogs and wait until the reviews come out and let others test the water.

I can't see it being an ongoing franchise that EA will renew and the fans will love.

As for the youtubers, they attended a press event especially for the youtubers and were given a nice LAN server setup to play on. They were told it was beta code and that crashes would happen and these would be "fixed before release"

I really don't believe there was some massive conspiracy to send out positive PR about a crap unfinished game that the youtubers knew was crap, but said positive things about it anyway to screw their viewers over and just make money from the views. I don't for one second believe they will have done that deliberately as they knew the backlash and hate that would follow. Jackfrags seemed particularly upset about it all.

A lot of the faults they will have seen will have been explained by EA saying it was beta code and not representative of the retail code. As for the hit registration etc.. it was a LAN event. I bet if we'd been able to get hold of the code that created a LAN server and played on a LAN ourselves, it will have felt loads better. With everybody in the game having a 1ms latency, how could it not ?

Lets not forget, there were LAN play sessions at E3 that thousands of people got to play, and were on reddit saying how much fun it was. Nobody has started a witch hunt at them. It wasn't just the youtubers that got to play that E3 version of the game. The public did as well, heck we watched the live stream they put up and marveled at how amazing it all ran and how good it looked.

Because it was running on a LAN.

That's where the cloak and dagger work was - show casing it running on a LAN when it ran like a dog out in the wild on internet servers with other players having 200ms pings etc...

Blah blah, even your mate agrees with me lol. You should head back to the the consoles forum, I'm sure they will appreciate your love for EA/Dice/corrupt youtubers more than the PC forum.

For reference i'm not that grumpy. I still enjoy playing battlefield 4 and think its a decent game. It has its issues, and its stupid that its taken them 8 months to get them game into a state it should have been released in. But that doesn't mean its "too late" or "pointless" since there are still people playing the game. What else are we going to play instead ?

There isn't really a credible 64 player war game alternative. There's arma, but this is too much of a simulator for me and not fast paced enough, and then there's Planetside, which I enjoy, but can't seem to get as involved in as I do with battlefield.

Did any of them actually state this on their build up videos and active promotion of the game before hand? I don't recall this but could be wrong.

I'm sure old Jack frags and his merry men were upset when we joe public found out was really going on. I have no sympathy for his filth, it's pure greed that dilutes their "Integrity and biased opinions" They were given a set criteria to promote the game in a certain way and to do so they were rewarded, they never informed people of this practise before hand, and so to take part in the assignment and get paid you had to follow the set criteria which was not to mention bugs.

Again these you tubers don't highlight this fact and Joe public isn't going to be thinking o look their on a lan and it's all wonderful. Was it not the case sometime ago at some lan tournament sponsored by intel that dice or EA wanted silly money ($100k? )to allow a lan coded game setup, otherwise the people at the LAN had to play it over the net haha. Intel or the tournament providers told them to do one.

It's called being deceitful and in any other sector these scum bags would have been taken to the cleaners.

Selling a product that's not fit for purpose, if this wasn't software and something physical this would have been dealt with. Imagine if this was Microsoft or even apple, they would have sorted this crap out straight away
