BF2 Team [OcUK] intersted?

been playing on 50k yesterday saw on OCuk'er on there but only for one game couldnt make it last night sadly.

sign me up for xfire tho - vagabonduk which is the same name as my BF2 name.

Usually play medic or assault.

Catch some of you in there.

This is beginning to feel potentially doomed already and I'm sure I'll get shunned just for saying it.

For a friendly none serious get together we so far have the following -

1) You MUST join a squad at all times.

2) You MUST use teamspeak or your unimportant.

3) You MUST follow what a few of the other OcUK are saying purely as they have been here longer.

4) You must announce who you are to the chain of command or your opinions will not count.

If this is the way some want to go then no problem. I have no issues with squadding up, I try to remember whenever i join but sometimes forget and end up lone by coincidence. I have attended the 50K game and was there 7pm prompt last night.

I thought this was purely a way to get together on servers with people that you knew were friendly and have a good time. I saw the abuse of Malc last night that got out of control and I feel it is getting too serious too fast and we need to remember why we are in this.

Just my thoughts so please don't dishonourably discharge me just for voicing them ;)

Unfortunately, I agree with everything you just said ^^ :(

I wanted this to be as open and friendly as possible. For both casual players and players who want to be a bit more serious.

we just need some structure tbh otherwise everyone is gonna be doing their own things and nothing will get sorted.
im not discouraged by the comments above and none of you should be.

To be honest I think we just need to squad up regularly on =50k= and play every week (at least) on the other server (16 player maps IMO) and then work it from there.

I think the more we work in squads, the more we're going to discover the strengths and weaknesses of eachother and the team as a whole. We only really need some basic ground rules for the server so far, for example No Red Circle except for assets, No abusive behaviour etc.

I also think the forums are a much better place to discuss important issues as the discussion is available 24/7 for people to view and contribute to.

That was me, I made that at 4am after the game we had last night, thoose are guidelines which you should follow, I NEVER had MUST written in the site, NEVER!

It is for a friendly nock about, but on the OcUK server last night, one team played in squads, the other was standing infront of jets so the pilot couldnt take off, all waiting for a vehicle spawn and all playing as lone wolf!

I worte that set of guidelines on the site without consulting anyone else yes, it is open to discussion but I was shocked at how some people played on the one side, everyone is meant to have fun, never had the MUST (I have the file save to proove it mate) and I wrote them just to get the message across as to why we made the group, to play TOGETHER, not on our own like on a public like one team did last night!

Me and a few others played as a couple of squads after the game and had a great time, it was just the OcUK game where people didnt play together; which is the whole point.

If you feel the way that some of us are overbearing then fine to speak up, as I asume you are directing that at me and Malc. We have done a lot behind the scenes to get this up and running, equally Yhack has. Sorry if anyone sees this as we are taking control but unless someone pushes foreward in certain ways we wouldnt have had that game at all last night, we wouldnt have identified that 20 man server isnt up to the load we put on it, we wouldnt have a website or a TS channel. On msn moreso a LOT of people have been involved; Siders77 has had his opinion in a lot of things for instance but I think he has posted 4 times in this thread, everyone is welcome to their own opinion and I am up for anything going on the website!

Thing is so far, only me and Siders77 have made any content for our website; if you feel the groups being run poorly then you are more than welcome to try and organise and get things together instead of me as I am very busy at the moment, but nothing seems to be progressing unless a few get their finger out and do it. We are still not 100% sure of the whole legality of using the [OcUK] tag; but we are on it.

You must join a squad, no, but it would be a good idea when we have 20 OcUK'ers on a server, and we have arranged a fun game, playing as a jet whore and only playing with jets, when your team is loosing and the jets in the air when you could be healing someone dead next to you and things like that, on the one team I had one of the best BF2 games ever, the whole team working in two squads, a awsome commander who was doing eevrything perfect. I switched teams on the next map as Malc was getting vocal on the TS about the other team, and as China on wake had 1 more player I switched to see what was going on. 4 people standing on the carrier deck waiting for the attack chopper or jet, I asked for one of them to come to the boats quite a few times, but no, they wanted points from the air! I ended up leaving as the whole team was playing as lone wolf, which I can do on my own anytime.

I have squadded up about 50 times in the last few weeks with OcUK'ers and I have always had a absolute blast, why I am so pro this gaming group! If you want to take control and run it, because we have been here longer is utter rubbish!

Malc is ace, first time I spoke to him I thought that he was abnocious due to the language he uses and he seemed really overbearing, give him 2 hours on teamspeak though and he is a blast to talk to and a ACE person to play WITH.

Last night on the TS channel at about 10pm, Malc, Me, Rebel=UK=, Theotheroption, Romeo-Klio, Saikor and maybe another (sorry I was really pepped up) had a blast, I left with a smile and was laughing all the way through, even though thanks to rebel=UK= I had my worst ever K : D ratio. :(

Im sorry to anyone who thinks I am taking control of this, I am not, just I am trying to get us to where we need to be, I will be organising another game once I get the OK for using the server again, hopefully everyone will be able to have fun in the next one, as ultimately that is my goal! If anyone else wants to organise and run anything feel free; I personally have not shunned the forum, been busy, were adverts on the forum at one point why it was not linked (OcUK name + competitor adverts = nono) but now when I update the site I will have the link, and I will register on the site pronto, just after I have updated my CV.

(This post may be a bit garbled, just got in and I was shocked to find the post quoted, sorry to the poster but that is not how it is and definately not how it ever will be, on the site they are guidelines, as in you don't have to do them, the only rule we have is no racism and abusive behaviour.)

I misread the quoted post thinking it was in quotation of the website, sorry in advance can tell I am tired, have left my post intact so you can get my views on this; if anyone wants me to leave just say and I am gone from the OcUK clan, and will foreward my domain to the forum; I have other clans I could play with but OcUK has the potential to be a blast, the clan is only doomed when we admit it is, first game, poor organisation on my behalf not saying we should squad up before hand, my first game organised and it went well, just Malc didnt have a nice game on one team, and when I swapped I did nto either; so on that note it was a failure as the game should be fun for all as ultimately it is a game.

I don't agree with that, at all. IMHO it's people like you who take the fun out of the game. That post is only going to make people annoyed, do you know how much time Malc and Yewen have put into the server/website etc? (Thanks a lot by the way!!) That sort of post is only going to ruin the chances of the server and stuff happening, because lets face it Malc and Yewen could just say "**** this, I'm not going to do this" which is totally in their rights to do. Let's face it, no one on here (IMO) is as organised as Malc and Yewen so this will never happen if they can't be bothered to take this criticism.

Anyway, if you don't like it no one's forcing you to stay.
I know I'll probably get flamed for this opinion but in all honesty I don't care now as I know how annoyed Yewen is about this.

No one wants you to leave Yewen at all, I was speaking for the underdog and I'm all for squading up and assisting where ever possible. But the length of your last post has just proved how terribly serious this has become.

I am a casual/ serious gamer, not on bf2 every night but I do read this thread daily. This is how it has become to look to a lot of the readers I think (hence goose agreeing with me).

Lets all definitely pull together but you will never get me wearing a headset as I'm telephobic anyway :p

Your doing a good job mate and keep it up, same for malc etc (who I never said did wrong, I just saw the abuse he got). Most importantly could those who are part of OcUK please wear the tag, purely to instantly identify people like noname uk as not one of us (unless it is :o )

Whoop :)

Sorry if the post seemed excessive, but its not me taking it seriously, hard day + my normal type of post.

Done one already in this thread, and just read some of case central :p

I think whenever you arrange something of this size things always go wrong and that is when people give up and starting arguing.

I think this idea has massive potential and one bad game shouldn't ruin it at all. At least look on the bright side, one side were playing as a unit, it's a hell of a lot better than both sides playing lonewolf and ****** around.

IMO if you expected the first game or trial (whatever) to go perfectly then you were expecting too much, it was never going to go like that.

Just need to keep playing together and keep calm when things don't go so well and eventually all will come good.

No Swearing. FF.

Hey guys !!
It`s early days yet there is always gonna be blood, sweat and tears at first.
I think you have all done a good job of getting things going and I like many here are grateful for what you have done.
Sorry I missed out last night (Works Do) didnt get on server till 2am.

All I want to say is I joined this to be part of a TEAM and play as a squad member or leader. On the very rare occasions that I have played in a good squad with voice comms I have really enjoyed myself and this is what I`m looking for here.
Lone wolfs go public
Squadders stay here !!!

I got no problem with a few people "Taking Charge" while the wheels start turning and get up to speed.............
If a few rules HAVE to be layed down to get this thing going lets just put up with it and iron the probs out later preferably after a few games.

Yey!

Well after speaking to Whoop on Xfire I have given him the short straw, he handles all the member related gubbins like the roster now.

Just a idea for people, If we had a list of people to play on the next game, pre-arranged and maybe the squads already sorted, much like the 50K game do people think that would work better?

I will ask tonight about getting the server again, just depends on if Friday or Thursday would be the better day!

im not on the roster!!!!

as for the updates to this thread... bf2 is a team game... i dont see how anyone who wants to be in a clan would not realise the absolute importance of being in a squad.. these people are not helpfull

i think the to put it nicely complaining on teamspeak yesterday while totally warrented was a bit over the top... if they aint going to join u in a squad and play as a team then shouting and swearing isn't going to help

a bit more planning before hand on exactly who is going to come, is they want to be a commander, squadleader, grunt would be very useful before they next game so even squads can be planned ahead of time

im available all of this weekend... dont have much experience being a commander but would be happy to give it a go

plus i rox0r :D

Sunday would be good for me, sorry I couldn't make it the other night - was looking at cars.

Keep up the good work everyone, love the site. I will try and make it on TS when I can.

:)
