BFG 8800 GTX/GTS arriving at OcUK soon and some images for you all!!

@ Loadsa

Why didn't AMD release the Athlon 64bit now then?

64bit & dual core is only just beginning to be utilized but people still bought their 64bit CPUs because they ran 32bit apps like a demon...

Do you see a similarity here? :D

@ Mav

How is it lame? A single card scoring higher than 2 of ATI and Nvidias greatest... A real dissapointment.

Yes, plus it does make perfect sense, why release a DX10 card now, makes no sense at all to me, it cant be used yet so why bother, if they are that bad at availability on launch, then why not delay it till they get good stocks, they aint losing out on nothing, DX10 can't be used till Vista, and they already have the fastest card out at the mo namely the GX2, and the R600 aint due till around Feb when Vista hits, so as i say nowt to lose from putting the date back a bit till they can get enough for availability.

That is some decent advise. Thanks! :D

is that it? those scores are lame. especially the quad core 06 score. can probably score higher using x1900 crossfire and dual core cpu.

it was lower than i was expecting too tbh

if it uses more power than a crossfire setup then thats a real bummer!

I don't know, but as i said, what have Nvidia got to lose by pushing the date back until they have enough stocks built up, absolutely nothing, they own the DX9 card market with the fastest card out there, DX10 can't be used till Vista hits (Feb), and also their rivals card is not due till Feb either as i said, they should just delay it until they can get enough available, which will be long before DX10 is released, and the R600, so nothing = lost. :)

Oops i forgot, they would lose out on the chance to screw everyone out of £500+, if they built up enough stocks before release, then they would'nt charge £500+ a pop for em, and afterall ££££££ is it at the end of the day, KERCHING!!!!.

Well all the Nvidia users will be laughing at you when the revised G80 comes out for £350 and you're paying £500 for your inferior R600. :p

Just been thinking about the GX2.
At the OCUK shop it says.............

"- QUAD SLI ready – (Quad SLI support will be provided through a future NVIDIA ForceWare driver release. See www.slizone.com for details)
"
What if Nvidia release some good drivers after the 8800 series launch which makes the GX2 in Quad SLi come close to/match the performance of two 8800's? :D

Might not need to "Step-up" then
