You really are quite obnoxious arent you.

You said you can buy a GX2 for £200-£300, not me. Now you're saying the cheapest is £333.
Honest typo there, meant £300-£400 as the eVGA one (the one with the step-up) is about £380 from memory.

If you stopped being rude long enough to read the post and listen to what people were saying you'd understand...
If certain people would stop posting crap I might read everything with their name on it.

So your rant at me was wrong... I accept your apology

**Edit** oooh - you managed a ninja edit when you realised you were wrong....

Nope wan't me - I've always known DX9.0L was not DX10 for XP. Can I suggest you perhaps use search AND read posts before you post rants talking tosh?

Easyrider thing`s dont look good on the step up program, i was going to do the same as you and get the 880GTX,so i emailed support and got this response.

"Products known to have limited availability will not be made available to the Step-Up Program. (Limited availability determined by EVGA production.)" Thanks! EVGA Tech Support.
:(

EDITED DUE TO GIVING IT SOME THOUGHT: :D

Maybe not as it depends how many days he's got left on the step-up, if the availability becomes good within the 90 days then it will go on the programme, so he can still get one, its probably only going to be limited for a few weeks, a month probs, so if his 90 days carries beyond that, he'll get one. :)

I KNEW IT!!!!!

I knew that step-up program was a load of rubbish!!!!! Why on earth a company would take back a second hand card for full price + the difference between a newer model is beyond me.

Now for the interesting part..........

Do EVGA or OCUK tell customers about the 'limited availability' clause?

I wonder how many people decided on the EVGA GX2 based on the ability to upgrade to a G80

Stinks to be honest

I'd never buy an EVGA card now

Oh please. I make a typo and you get all high and mighty, take your own advice and do some searches because I've been saying £450-£500 for the 8800GTX for days so it was obvious what I meant.

Not a ninja edit, I simply removed it after making sure because I didn't want to accuse you of something you didn't do. Would you prefer I leave it there so you can get even more up my arse?

P.S. To the people saying the 8800GTX won't be on the step-up programme, I think it will because it's Nvidia's new flagship product and not a limited edition.

You say that, buy my XTX isn't at full load, except when in the 3D cockpit.

Outside temps drop from about 65 to 55C. Which is 100 to about 60%.

If it was using it all I would be abovue 20FPS all the time...
At 1900x1200? That's not so bad then, everything I'd heard so far was that FSX at high res ran horrible but I guess it is possible then although I dare say you'd not complain at having 10 - 20% more GPU power there ;)

Bit of a niche example I grant you but still there is some stuff around that will stress even top end cards at high res/ good IQ.

reality has to come into it , obviosly if you run at thoese res. when yes you will need a faster card , but mid range resolutions these cards are king ,

Why not try reading properly before you reply?d
I said Decent resolution Nevermind 2048x1600, and what i meant was from like 1280x1024 or 1600x1200.

No, I'm not being high and mighty, I really don't care how much they are. You had an abusive rant at me based on your own mistake and didn't have the good grace to admit it was unwarrented and apologise.

I pointed out you Ninja edit because it was another example of you being abusive based on something wrong, again..

I have no interest in you whatsoever. My original post was that poeple buying a GX2 now would save ~£150, against a G80. However in 1 year/18months time the G80 might sell for a better price on the second hand market making up the difference so in that case a GX2 could be false economy. You would then get the advantage of DX10, 10-20% increase in perfromance etc for a year for not much more.

That's it, there is no more, no hidden agenda, just a simple observation which you felt the need to attack me for in an abusive manner.

I really don't understand your abusive attitude for someone putting forward a simple suggestion.

£500s not too shabby, its a lot I admit but then I did once spend £480 on a Geforce 7800-512meg-GTX ;)

Give it like 3 months and just before ATIs launch the price will drop u watch....

The GTS maybe the dark horse still...

I think once the reviews are out and the benchmarks and possible IQ reviews it may sway many to become £500 minus.

Christ, if I wanted to be abusive I wouldn't have gotten rid of it. In fact if I wanted to be abusive I would've written something nasty instead.

Sorry for retracting a statement in your interests. I'll be sure to be more rude next time.

dood, I am getting two ;)

question: will they work and fit into my SLI-DR motherboard, or do I need to buy new mobo ?

As i said depends how many days you have left, if you've just bought a GX2, then your defiantely going to get an 8800 GTX, they aint gona be limited for 90+ days jesus, they'll only be limited for a few weeks or so, plenty of time, if your 90 days is about up then you aint.

Wasn't in my interest, you accused me of talking crap based on a mistake you'd made and then removed it because it showed you were being abusive over something you had got wrong... Again
