Hi there

No pre-orders! Its a hard launch with product in stock on November 8th. :)

Damn

Is the benQ 24" monitor going to ship from you guys on the 6th or will that be the date when they send the monitors out to you guys?

I'm just trying to make sure that my order doesn't ship till I can order one of these from you instead of the 2 x X1900xt cards.

What is going to happen to the price of the GX2? :D

Sold any recently, that aren't part of the EVGA step up program? :p

Hi there

No GX2 price drops as there is none left to drop price on. NVIDIA have no stock left and nearly all partners sold out. Hence why we only have EVGA left on our site, all others sold out and no longer in production.

IMO Please ignore the fsx picture as the consensus of the community is its got more to in common with an oil painting than fsx, fsx as it is runs like a three legged woof woof.

Still the 8800 do look mega but unless you have money to throw away wait until supply increases a bit.
Just picture the cheaper one for 7900gt prices.

Woo pointless expensive graphics card on the horizon. Great.

Im not buying one...

My X1900XTX thrashes through anything I play at 1600x1200 with 4xAA and 16xAF :)

spot on m8 i would rather buy an x1900 xt-xtx then a 500 quid card
it will go down in price from 500 to 350-400 1 week before christmas and we will not see any dx10 games before end of jan or mid feb.i'm not being the spoil sport here just giving an honest opinion :p

I have the 1900 XTX now and as I said above I wasn't planing on getting a DX10 card until Vista is released, maybe that way there will be be newer revisions and price adjustments.

Smoothly done, you could have been left with some expensive kit to shift. Now, as I only have a 17" monitor that 8800 GTS (as part of a new build) is looking mighty fine...

£500, how retarded, anyone miss the days when the high end cards were at most about £250?

Kinda getting fed up of the ever increasing cost of pc components. Every other year the price of graphics cards just goes that bit higher and for no real reason. Then again as pc gamers i suppose we should be used to getting shafted for things that are going to appear slow in under 6 months.

Btw unreal 2007 is NOT a dx 10 game, its dx9 theyre just gonna add some dx10 features in a patch apparently.

last two pictures are very impressive. I wonder if they are rendered though?

All remains is for the developers to make use of the new features and come up with some decent games to go with all this expensive graphics.

It's Alan Wake - check it out - it looks amazing.

Edit - that water looks like a bad Photoshop job - look at the edges - will see if I can find more, but that one looks a little dubious. Ah I see - it's Flight Sim X - The water won't be rendered, it'll be a photo overlay... meh.

I don't think the second image with the nice looking water is a real time DX10 image from FSX. I read on a FSX developer blog that it's what they hope to achieve with DX10 but they claimed not to have any DX10 hardware. It's basically an artists impression.

I can't help think that the FSX image and the last one are a bit optimistic as to what will really be delivered at any sensible frame rate but who knows.

Yeah, I'd have to agree - water is looking pretty good right now - but not that good.

thing is... im waiting to see how DX10 actually pans out and whether it does go by storm.. that UT2007 screenshot is well old now and I think its DX9.. (had it as a desktop background like a year ago when they demod the unreal3 engine)
by the time the games have actually come out which support DX10 I think there will be a new range of cards quicker than G80 anyway... I've just bought a GX2 and im sticking with that until I can see that Dx10 is worth spending £500 on. because atm a GX2 or 1950XTX rips through anything at huge resolutions..... just my 2 cents :)

Gibbo, whwn you get the cards in mate can you measure them against a 7900GTX/X1900XT and let us know how they measure up.

Would really like one but doubt one would fit in my super lanboy, the GTX only just fit :p

Performance:

From a guy at XS.

Significantly better than twice the performance of my 7800GTX with a similar CPU (e6600 @ 2.6Ghz) in each of the game tests.

That's just under what I get with X1900 Crossfire, so while its good from a single card point of view it's not earth shattering.

Hi there

Not impressed to be honest with that score.

I built one of the OcUK Ultima Extremes a couple of days ago. Core 2 DUO X6800, Corsair 8500 Dominator, 2 x X1950 XTX In Crossfire, 6.10 BETA Drivers all in the Intel 975X Bad Axe motherboard.

At stock clock speeds it scored 11,400 (2.93GHz) and with the CPU at 3.4GHz it scored 11,920. If I'd had pushed the CPU upto 3.7GHz and overclocked the graphics card we'd a seen 12k+. Also for reference we ran 3D Mark 2005 which scored just over 20,000.

To be honest I was expecting the 8800 GTX to be hitting at least 14,000 in 3D Mark 2006, but that is just a benchmark and games may tell a completely different story with much better gains to be had. :)
However it is good to see a single card matching ATI X1950's in Crossfire at DX9 benchmarks. That for sure says that DX10 is gonna be even better. :)
