Could do, but Nvidia will release the refresher of the G80 then. :)
Then ATI will release the refresh of R600 and I will prowl around in the shadows, biding my time, until both of them drop to £199 and I choose my victim.

I've decided I'm not getting one of these now... nVidia have limited their monster card to 24 ROPS, so that's all it can do, 24 pixels per-clock... What a waste, it's not going to be able to fill that many more than the current gen, and so will only be a big deal for DX10 IMHO... :o bummer...

GTS bench results. Looks like its about the same as a GX2 in DX9

Inquirer on the specs. Long read

Oh and I've sold my GX2 for £330 and a monitor. Now have more than have enough for the £407 card I've ordered. All I have to do is butcher the case or get a new one, again.

Really hard to believe that the g80 will be cpu bound even with a kentsfied! lol
so that means that 3dmak score of around 12k is cpu bound does it?

Hi there

I will do my best and your PSU needs to be one with 4x PCI-E connectors so ideally one of the new Enermax 850W or 1000W that are properly designed for these type of cards. :)

:D I wonder if all those slagging off the Enermax, will still be so bold, especially if they are looking at a 8800. :p

Very Temtping, but I will wait for ATi's response, they always seem to follow up with a even better card and then it turns out to be everyones favourite.
Why they are always late to the table is beyond me. I think I will wait for the r600 as well.

Different "games", different utilisation of the cpu....

Newer the 3dmark version, the less cpu bound it is, so take 06 for example, it will fly with an SLI G80 setup even on my single core 4000+.

an intel quad core won't make *that* much difference to the score.

*that* being relative to a real game\earlier version of 3dmark.

Gibbo, is there a cirtain time re and etailers can start selling G80s on the 8th? Or is it simply 12:01 am Nov 8th? Where is everyone getting there release times from, are these confirmed? What time would it be for me on the east coast USA?
Saw this
press conference at 11AM on the 8th

Doesn't say which coast? 8 hours delay would be a bit late in the day I suppose.

...and I thought the Voodoo 5500 was a power sucking huge card.

Will the full length card supports in cases start making a comeback again now?
