7950GX2 pwns you all...muhahaha :D....

Tbh I seriously doubt those benchmark results, I hope they are right in that I wont need to upgrade (yet) but hppe that they are wrong in that there dosn't seem to be a bigger leap forward than expected.

I suspect the bigger differences will come with 8800 SLI vs 7950 quad coz quad sux.

Hi there

To simplify things for you guys!!

8800 GTS offers very similar performance to the current 7950 GX2. Except its only one core and has all the added DX10 support making it far more future proof.

8800 GTX is a lot quicker than 8800GTS/7950GX2 and I am talking quite a bit faster, not just 2-3fps but more like 15-20fps in some cases.

Also at the moment SLi on 8800 series is hard as its not implemented in shipping drivers, but new driver release should sort this or some hacking.

Also something we've noticed is with the 8800 series image quality is noticably better better than the 7900 series, its even better than the X1950's. So big thumbs up to NV as to me image quality is more important over performance. :)

Hi Gibbo could you comment on the psu requirements for the gts? i.e. will the fsp blue storm 500w be enough for 1 gts?

Ill take that with a pinch of salt Gibbo, no offence, i just remember what was said about the x1950, and look how that turned out. :p

I hope its a bit better than 15-20fps faster in some cases, in some cases, what are we talking only about 2-3 games, and the rest its about equal with the GX2 or 1-2fps faster. :p

Im totally confused now, so they've just churned out a slower card than the GX2, but banged DX10 on it, which isnt worth having for about a year+.
Yeah, they released a single GPU that is 92% faster than an X1900XT-X.

This is a SINGLE GPU that is equal (well almost) to two or ATIs greatest cards. I haven't looked at Nvidias but I'm sure it's the same story...

As for the GTS, it's slightly faster than the GX2 but it has DX10 like you said. Oh, and it's a SINGLE GPU. And it costs the same price..

Not so hard is it?

I'm not to sure why Loadsamoney is having trouble understanding the 8800 series benefits.

It seems to be he just wants to dis a new gen NV card.

What devastating repartee. :D
