BFG RMA question

SP's: 64 vs 96,
256 bit memory interface vs 320 bit

both are the same tech, so aside from the 512mb vs 320MB it's a significant downgrade.

They should have given you an 8800 GT or GTS, or a 9800 GT, not a 9600 card. Without doubt get in touch with them again and i'm sure they will replace it with something better.

The 9600GT is the slightly better card. It's not a downgrade.

Jeff, when getting back an RMA and looking at tracking, does the invoice number give a clue as to what's being sent back? mine sort of suggest i'm getting an 8800 GTX OC back: GF88768GTXOCE

I was wondering the same thing, does the invoice indicate which card is being returned? (neologan could answer this more specifically for me, my invoice states the exact same GF88768GTXOCE.... which card did you end up getting?)

Thanks

i got back an 8800 GTX OC card, so my guess is you'll end up with the same. Was slightly disappointing after others claimed to get 260's back, but oh well.

I think they are repairing cards now. The whole BFG RMA process seems to be taking significantly longer.

We aren't, we were just doing inventory to fix an issue with our RMA stock. It took a lot longer than expected, hence the delays. We are back on track now and turnaround time should be back to normal.

What about the turnaround for the 680i motherboards? been a month since they received it

We are waiting to get stock in for those. I know it has been a while and I apologize about that. It is taking a lot longer than we expected to get parts in house. I requested a status update yesterday and again a few minutes ago, so I can keep you posted on that. As soon as I find something out I will let you know.

So there isnt a set ETA on these? Thanks for the quick response :)

Unfortunately not right at the moment. I wish I had a better answer. Hopefully I will hear back today on when we can expect to have parts in house. It might be kind of a pain for you, but I can get you a 680i LT board as a loaner until the other parts arrive if that is something you are interested in. At least that would get your machine back up and running. Let me know if this is something you want to pursue.

Wow now thats customer service, erm yes i think i would be interested in this actually, least then i will have my own pc in the house :)

I was just wondering what card I should expect back when I return my BFG 8800 Ultra OC? I'm fine with a different card but will be considering SLi, so want to see what costs I might have to pay for a 2nd card.

Cheers

I wouldn't be suprised it you got a 1GB GTS250 as a replacement though that'll have a lot less memory bandwith (30GB/s) than an Ultra.

Given up RMA'ing my 8800GTS 640MB. Eventually got an RMA number after a week after emailing them again the requested information they asked for. However the email they've sent me instructs me to fill in a web form to continue the RMA process however the first question is my phone number which I enter but it states "records do not match" despite me copy pasting the number from the email I sent them with it on.

I've emailed them back 3 times with no response and it's been a week now. I've been without a working computer for over 2 weeks now and it looks like I'm just gonna have to buy a new card, certainly won't be paying the premium for a BFG card.

It's international. Try typing 44+the number you registered with, minus any leading zero.

eg. if you registered with 01234 567 8910

type 4412345678910 which should work.

Thanks, I used my mobile number and I've just tried using 44 for the 0 but still states "records do not match" :(

It should work

07777 777 777

becomes

447777777777

And that does work.

No spaces, no dashes, no leading zeros.
