BFG RMA question

hello, are any people still with this thread?

I just sent my GTX 260 this Monday, and the BFG Wales warehouse received it on Tuesday. I wonder when the replacement will be shipped out?

any one knows Jeff's email? In case if my rma got a delay

Poor you! You have probably a month to wait if you are lucky. I would not call your RMA a delay, I would say it is more like giving it a birthday

Im just hoping i can get this gtx295 replaced, bought as an rma replacement but i really can't see bfg replacing it, registered it earlier but the warrantys awaiting an invoice upload which i obviously don't have. :(

Just checked my RMA update, low an behold its back with fedex, another GTX2851024OCE on the way, might even be here today! If it does, sent friday, arrived at BFG monday, returned thurs, received friday, not a bad turn around. And if its no DOA again I'll be a happy man.

What was the card you originally sent in?

It's coming up to 3 weeks now and i've still had nothing. I'm starting to get ****ed off with the apparently 'good' service from BFG.

Have you spoke to controller about it?

not to step on anyones toes or anything, if you bought it from him and it is indeed faulty then he should assist you in the rma at the very least, in all honesty id expect a refund if it is definitely faulty

Bah is what I say to that! My card was collected by FedEx on Wednesday but they say it didnt get back to the warehouse till Monday and the RMA says a replacement hasn't been shipped yet

3 more days to go and its been a full month since my original 8800 gtx died.

Mine died in August Azzuri.

Just realised my cards coming from the US so god knows when it'll reach me. The UK warehouse must be out of stock.

Gerard - I had an 8800GTX, they swapped it for a GTS250 512mb, after I complained they agreed to replace that with a GTX260. Once they got hold of the 250 they called to say they are out of stock would a GTX285 be ok...of course I said. When I got that it was DOA so they are now replacing my 285 with another 285.

I have but i doubt theres much he could do about it, if id not registered it and discovered this then it probably coulda been rma'd by him with no bother. When i got the card first thing i did was try out TF2, that was running well, played that for 45 mins or so then i registered it. Next thing i tried was the crysis benchmark adn right away i noticed it was only around 30fps and there was no "multigpu" text in the top right hand corner.

Its an honest mistake, its just nvidia seem to have a weird way of doing dual gpu's, with the ati 3870x2 and 487x2 you install the card and its in dual mode right away, with this for some reason you have to enable it, seems a bit backwards to me, its like buying an intel quad core and having to enable the other cores yourself incase you don't want to use them.

I'll wait and see if i get a response from Jeff at bfg and go from there.

Its scary so many are getting through and being doa, this card also had "tested and passed" stickers on the antistatic bag. Im assuming the testing involves little more than seeing the windows desktop, that wouldn't explain a total doa card though.

Hmm...

My RMA is annoying me, hearing all your problems dont help in me having confidence in this company. I wonder if it is a matter of allowing so much stock out within a certain time frame. I remember when I worked for a company at the end of term we had to wait for the next term until we could provide equipment for the sake of making the company look better.

I agree with other forums that EVGA is the better company for Nvidia cards when it comes to RMA's.

If it's the card I'm thinking it is, then it was a warranty return in the first place and therefore it will already be on BFG's database as registered to the person you bought it from.

You need to get that person to raise an RMA request with your address as the return address. That way it's his RMA and it's within the terms, if not the spirit, of the 10 year warranty.

I do agree with maddness though - if I'd laid out £275 for a warranty return 'as new' graphics card and it didn't work I'd be looking for my money back from the seller.

I got an email from someone at bfg earlier asking for my delivery address for the rma so looks like its going forward. Just need to see where ive to send it, im assuming wales but i'll wait for their instructions first.

Have to admit i was a bit suprised when it tuirned up in a fedex box, it was an rma replacement but i thought it would have the retail box an bits and pieces. But looks like things should work out anyway.

I think you really have to get Controller to RMA the card for you. Basically he generates the RMA and then you send off the card then he sends it back to you. Anything else and BFG are quite within their rights to ignore you. Sorry if that sounds unhelpful, but if the card was supposedly working then Controller needs to sort it out for you.

I don't think he can as the cards registered to me. I was told via email that the system was accepting the rma and for my delivery address, last contact i had was saturday night. That being said after reading through this thread they seem pretty slow to respond to emails to say the least.

At the very least they could respond and tell me to take a running jump but thats not happened, just very slow email support. If ive not got a response byu tomorrow im going to call them and try to get through the the tech dealing with me.
