BFG RMA question

same here as spoonjaffa. just nip in your post office with it all packed up ask for next day signed for covered for upto £500 costs less than a £10 depends on weight.

Hey Guys,

Seems like I'm experiencing problems with my 8800GTX OC also. What seemed to be the common problem? Mine appears to play some games fine (such as warcraft etc) where as when I play games such as Far Cry 2, the new tomb raider I get completly random shut downs, where the screens go black and I can hear audio, then about 5 seconds later I get blue screen and Nvidia display error, this happens frequently when I play the 'top' games. Is this similar to the problems you guys have been having?

I have a RMA number etc from BFG and have emailed Jeff to see his view on it. On a side note, which courier is the most efficient/well priced for a safe delivery of the card?

Cheers

Same issues as me by the sound of it although I wouldn't infect my pc with WoW ;) . I have just put my RMA request in so hopefully will get a reply soon. I resorted to upgrading a few months back as I couldn't handle the crashes, granted an expensive routed but I really didn't like the idea of being without my pc at the time.

@ Jeff

I have raised my ticket with support who rather than replying with a request for me to return the product, have given me a load of instructions on identifying my psu and the voltages being output on the rails. I have responded to explain that due to the unreliability of the card I have now changed model of card to an ATI 4870x2 and am somewhat reluctant to remove it and it's drivers in order to fault find on the card. I have given them the make and model of my psu (see sig) which is more than capable of running the card and runs my current 4870x2 perfectly.

Is there any chance you could look into this? I am not sure if it is your department or not. Not sure whether to put my ticket number here or not but can email it later if necessary.

Thanks

BA

How long does it generally take from sending and recieving a replacement?

I have a 8800GTX OC2, will they replace with an upgrade as i take it the 8800GTX is not manufactured anymore??

ta

First time turnaround was about a week when I sent my 8800GTX back - they replaced it with another faulty 8800GTX so I sent it back again. Second time the turnaround was about 2 weeks and they sent me a brand new GTX260.

re:

Hi all I sent the card off on the 6th and it was recieved on the 7th.
As a big company you would have thought they would have at least sent confirmation through email that they had at least recieved it:confused:
I tried their RMA tracking and according to that it shows it hasnt even been recieved:confused:
moan over...
cheers

On my second return they didn't update the fact that they'd received it for about a week. Email them :)

I've just had to send off one of my 8800gtx OC2's as it was crashing in games, then one morning turned PC on and corrupted text and red lines everywhere...

problem is I have SLI, if they send back a different card then it won't SLI with my other card

They might send you a GTX260 like they did with me, it seems they don't have many 8800GTXs available for replacement.

re:

Had an RMA update today:)

its showed this

Stage 2: Your RMA was received in the BFG Warehouse on 2009-01-12 03:07:41.

strange that as the online post office tracking said it arrived on the 7th:confused:

so it arrived on the 7th Jan and went in the warehouse 5 days later on the 12th

Oh well the wait carries on I suppose

Your previous post said that they acknowledged receipt of your card in their warehouse on the 12th Jan so technically they've only had it in testing or whatever they call it for 48 hours. If you don't hear by Friday - and I'm sure you will have - just email them. My BFG rma took approx 7 days from start to finish iirc.

Thats the anoying thing, I know for a fact they recieved my card on the 7th, as it was recorded delivery before 1pm on the 7th, so thats 7 days ago, why it was recieved in the warehouse on the 12th?? 5 days later, I have no idea:confused:

If you want, you can send me your information and I can look into this for you. It shouldn't take that long to get the replacement out.

^ From earlier in this thread. He is an employee of BFG who provides help and support on various forums. Surprised he hasn't been on this thread recently (maybe on holiday?).

Im sure he'll get things moving for you if you explain your situation and link to this thread.

RMA nightmare

I have got a night mare with BFG. I have been trying to RMA my BFG 280 GTX since last week, The card keeps powering it self down ( red light comes on ) . I had an email from the support team asking me for my address card numbers and a scanned copy of my Reciept. I sent all this info last sat and have had no RMA setup yet.

I spent the week email them asking what taking so long and was getting no reply from them. So I made a new email and email them off that one with a fake name and card problem. I got a reply right away. So I then email them off my email telling them what I have justed done and got a email saying they are sry for the delay and will look into it. Ofcouse I have herd nothing back once again.

So as it stand atm im 350 pound out of pocket for a faulty graphic card which im not very happy about. Plz could somone help me and tell me if I should get legal advice or can one of u tell if there is somone I can contact to resolve this nightmare.

Thank you.
