BFG RMA question

I would allow 28 days. If the card is less than 12 months old you're probably better sending it back to the place you bought it. Some places are giving straight refunds or the option to change it for an equivalent value ie. better ATI card.

Unfortunately it's a couple months over the 12 months :(

Finally received replacement card #2 today. Will try it out tonight when I get home, and hopefully it won't be faulty this time. I got a GTX280 OC2 compared to the OC version last time (in return for a 9800 GX2) but from what I've read here there is no pattern to what you get back. I suppose it depends on what they have lying around at the time. So if this replacement actually works, the process will have taken some 7 weeks. I've seen reports here where some are on their third replacement so I may have another wait to look forward to.

Their turnaround is pretty slow but I can deal with that. What I find inexcusable is that many of us are receiving faulty cards as replacement. What is especially discouraging is that from personal experience and from what I've read in this thread, these faults could be easily diagnosed from simply plugging the card in and turning the power on. We're looking at things like dead cards or fans not working so nothing that shouldn't be picked up at their end. Unless of course there is no testing prior to shipping these refurbished replacements?

Probably sound like some grouchy old man here (and starting to feel that way) but I'm already out of pocket for postage and an interim card. No way I could have managed without the computer for this length of time. I suppose it's a lesson learned regarding BFG's too good to be true warranty.

I hope that those just starting the RMA process have better luck, and have a working replacement soon.

Just had my replacement 8800 GTS 640mb OC die on me in the middle of ME2 :(. Only been running a week (got the RMA back a month or so ago though). Now to start the ball rolling again...

My BFG 8800GTX OC2 died the other day too. Emailed them and they sent the form. Posting it tomorrow. Worried I wont get back the same card. I don't mind getting back a 8800GTX OC2, but if they going to replace it with a 200 series then the BFG Tech GeForce GTX 260 OCX seems the most equal replacement...am I right by saying this?
I bought it when it first came out so yeah spent like 300 pounds:s
I miss my pc:(
someone hug me:'(

Jeff do you think Ill get a 8800GTX OC2 back? or have they run out? Like any tips to ensure I get a proper equivalent back?

What's with all these BFG cards dying lately???

@Amit, I'd have thought if they were to give you a 200 series, it'd be a 1GB GTS250 mate.

But then the shader clock speed would be lower....I would class that as a downgrade dont u think?
Spending 300 for a High end graphics card and receiving something worth much less and is midrange and compares to a 9600 (according to some websites).
Plus iv read people receiving the same for standard 8800gtx's so why shouldn't I get a better one:S I paid a premium for a OC2:S

Ahh im so stressed!!!

I sent my 8800GTX OC back in November and since then had two broken 8800GTX OC's back.
My friend sent a 8800 Ultra in and got a 260 back, since i've been waiting over 70 days now for a working card and ranted at them via email they're coming to pick the second dead 8800GTX up tomorrow and are sending me a 260 maxcore back.

Hmmm that gives me some hope. Iv also gone through one before. But the first one was withing the returns policy of the place i bought it from.
Gratz on the 260.
Pray for me:S

Pray that they show up to collect it! then i will start praying for you :p

There is a chance you could get a 260 but at the same time they're within their rights to give you a 8800.

Ill shall telepathically talk to the courier people and get them to wake up now and stand outside ur door till u wake up:D

If only you could!

I will be sitting behind the door all day so i don't miss them.

Good luck with your RMA, hopefully it goes a lot smoother than mine went and you get a free upgrade too.

Wow, I'm impressed so far - I started the RMA process Sunday night, they recieved my card this morning and my replacement is on it's way and will be here tomorrow!

Just sent the card today. Wote a little begging letter along with it saying if they can provide me with a identical 8800gtx oc2 or if thye can kindly find it in their hearts to give a 260 ocx. Hope they dnt think im being cheeky...things in life that get u worried ey:S
Would really be dissapointed with anything less than a 260:S Feels like it would have been worth going for them just for lifetime warrenty:S

Oh well lets hope!

Unlucky. I sent mine via 9.00am special dleivery. Tracking said its been sent from their local depot to them. But when I try to check BFG's RMA status it says, "Unable to select database". Can someone confirm this is happening not only to me?:(
