BFG RMA question

Depending on what driver version u are using, u need 6.03_nvidia_system_tools for driver version 180 and above or Ntrune for version 179 and below. A word of warning tho do not clock or underclock your card unless u know what u are doing. There are over programs out there but these ones are made by nvidia.

I tend not to mess with my vidio card settings. I leave them on factory defaults. I do over clock my CPU tho as I do have a black edtion AMD chip and there is no point getting one unless u plan to over clock it as thats what the black edtions are made for.

its quite simple mate! all ya wanna do is download riva tuner and enable the overclocking ability! now all ya need to do after that is move the sliders ya want to change to lower frequencies! as has been mentioned previously however is only do so if you know what your doing! downclocking won't harm your hardware however but will impact performance adversely which is why its only worthwhile doing if you are having to test for an obvious problem like the artifacting out the box on my card! hope that explains things for ya!

Lol And I was not able to get them to RMA my 280 GTX oc. Owell I mite of manage to fix it myself with the help of numptyboy and a bit of plastic. I know one thing I dont think I will ever be buying BFG again. Think I will go with EVGA next time, its a shame really as I have had BFG cards since they came out.

Jeff Kozlowski is the only redeming part of BFG in my eyes, Its a shame I have been put off BFG by there support staff.

Instead of plastic

Jeff Kozlowski has given me an idea on how to fix my power connector problem. Instead of using a bit of plastic use some hot gule to hold the connectors in place untill I am able to buy a PSU with the 8 pin on it. I was not too sure about jamming a bit of plastic between the power connectors, now I have somthing else to try which I dont mind as I know it should not do any damage to the card.

Thanks Jeff as I have said u are the only redeming part of BFG.

re

dark earth...is there a problem with your card or is it your psu.....if its your card why didnt bfg exchange it for you?

Well my BFG 280 OC keeps powering down, its very random if or when it dose it. So at frist I beleaved I had a faulty 280 and wanted to RMA it. I conntacted BFG support and they ask me for all my info. Which I gave them then I heard nothing back off them for 3 days so I email them once everyday and still got nothing back. I started to get mad which if u go back a page u will find out.

Then afther playing with the cards power connectors I decinded it was the adaptor 2x6 pin - 1x8 pin. Jeff Kozlowski from BFG sent me another one but it still did the same thing. I dont think there is any point in me RMA it now as I beleave its the adators losing connection. Jeff Kozlowski has told me to contact him any time I want to RMA it.

But the reason I have gone off BFG is because the support staff did not set me an RMA up when I was thinking it was the card. I had to find somone to contact to get anything done ( I fount Jeff on this forum ) . So without Jeff Kozlowski I would never of got a spare adaptor to try or get to RMA my card if I decind to do so. As I still got no answer from BFG support.

Hope this explains why I have been put off BFG. As without Jeff I dont think any thing would have been done for me by the support team.

Also I know it was not my PSU as I ran 2 cards off it before and when i was using my m8s card when i had enouth of mine powering down I had no problems.

I would just like to add justed because I have had a bad experience with BFG support dose not mean you will. So dont be put off just because of my one experience. As many people get there RMAs without any problems.

Every company has one bad customer experience. In the case of BFG it justed happen to be me.

Hi All

I recently Rma'd my 8800 GTX which decided to die on me

had a reply to my email when i first started the process after 30mins

Ulike those above i only got a replacement 8800 GTX back but it's works and i guess

Thats what counts

Thought I would add to this thread with my BFG RMA experience.

8800GTX OC was overheating so sent BFG an RMA email. They replied back within an hour with RMA info, address etc.

Sent the card off on a monday, received a GTX 260 OC back on thursday :)

I've just returned an 8800GTX H2OC and got a GTX 280 H2OC back within 5 working days, so you really can't knock that...
