i just ordered these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/lizard-skins-peaty-lock-on-handlebar-grips/ white, red and blue ones, also ordered some of these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/hope-grip-doctor-bar-end-plugs/ in red, i'm starting to get the hangs of putting some colour on my bike

I got some red Hope bar ends you could have had for free

Tried them and didn't like them, and be careful with the screws on the peaty grips they are made of cheese!!!

They are bulky, stick out a lot and where just a pain unscrewing them when you want to change grips.

It would be a good idea, but most people can't justify buying a full face lid just for that. For most people, one helmet is all they'll buy and use, so it has to be a compromise between protection and practicality. Full face helmets aren't practical for most riding, so most will just buy a open face helmet.

Full face helmets are great for DH, where you can take them off between runs.

YAWN, the whole fullface/protection argument is so boring! If people want to get tooled up and ride on bridleways then that's their choice. Anyway.

Does anyone fancy a trip to Lee Quarry tomorrow or next week sometime? Supposed to be pretty warm over the next couple of days so hopefully it'll be bone dry by early next week.

Thinking of getting a Cylocross or some sort of Hybrid for commuting 32 miles a day.

Firstly, will I get burned at the stake for asking that in here

Secondly, can anyone point me toward anything else that's suitable for commuting that isn't a road bike

Don't fancy commuting on my full suss

Length? Thomson x4 is an obvious suggestion. I have an Easton Haven (55mm) which is the perfect lenght for my setup, it's one of the lightest around and nicely machined. 0 degree rise though which might not be what you're after.

hardtail with lockout forks on road tyres?
not sure i would want to do that sort of mileage on a hardtail, i'd just go for a hybrid

Just looking at the Haven, it looks good.

Rather annoyingly I bought a Pro Atherton Stem but sold it because I thought I wasn't going to change my fork :/
