If you like the colour then go for it :D

In other news; I found a second hand Rock Shox Monarch Plush RC3 shock the other day, in the right size for my Covert (unusual) and for a really good price, so I jumped on it:

The RP23 was working great and I'm probably going to switch them back and forth a little bit to see which I like. No ride report yet as I'm still waiting for a new front wheel :(

I'd be worried about continuing to use a carbon helmet after crashing it, maybe something to think about?

And yeah a splash of colour would be nice :D Can't you still get the yellow/blue stripey 2010 one? That'd look cool with your SS2.

Such a good looking beast!

Got my new frame and forks yesterday. Devinci Hectik and Fox Talas 36 RC2. Waiting for a few more bits to arrive to build it up. LBS wouldn't budge much on the price of Covert frame.

Question for anyone that has heli-taped their frame and forks, how much did you use? I have ordered 1m but got a feeling this will only be enough for the forks.

McMoab is awesome!!!!!

..........
.....would take me months of practice, and a squishy 140mm travel full sus is NOT the weapon of choice for this!

When Purplehead and I rode it the other year we both sucked at that part. 150/160mm travel bikes are not the weopon of choice here either. :p

It's a lot harder than it looks in the videos/pictures.

We managed the narlier parts of the black ok...well I did. Purplehead had a few comedy moments. :p

Cheers :)

It depends how much of the frame you want to tape up. I probably used about a metre of 10cm width for the forks, then about 2metres of 7.5 for the frame, but it's taped everywhere apart from the toptube.

I taped up the top tube of mine after seeing someone catching a cleat from their shoes on it as he took a tumble. Nice big gouge out the paintwork.

That McMoab looks like fun, I love rock crawling sections. There are small sections in some of the areas I ride, but nothing quite like the real deal.

How dangerous to a frame is shot blasting? I've heard that it can be a bit iffy on thin walled frames due to the effect of the shot removing the paint/laquer and the top layer of metal.

Finaly got my SIDs back from the service from TFtuned. They had to replace the whole air spring system due to a fault.

Went for a quick 3 hour juant at my local trails and are super nice!
