I love my Cape Wrath. I've upgraded most of the parts now, but the frame has really great geometry for me and is really strong. It'll last you a good while if you take care of it. Get new forks though. :p

lol - your not the 1st person to suggests i upgrade my forks (are they that bad?)

What would you recommend?

Just been sitting in my garage with the door open with all my riding gear on for the last hour waiting for the rain to stop. Unfortunately I gave up before it did. Now I’m back up here on the ****ing internet

You'll not get far biking in this country if you're afraid of a little rain!

They'll be fine for the occasional ride, if you want more than the I'd say Marzocchi MX Comps/Pros or Rock Shox Recons or Toras.

aye - upgrade the forks on my Stone River (to MX Comps) and also got Hayes brakes on it now as well.

Come to think of it - only the frame and the cranks are still the same as the original!!!

The wrath's an alright bike, but the forks are horrible.

tbh the dart 2's are great for what they cost, my Bro has a pair on his Gary fisher, doing very nicely! :) those dart 3's i can only assume would be a lot better.

Looks like a nice frame.....will probably ride a lot different to the bighit though.

I think the 222/223/224 basically got lighter and the angles changed slightly. I think the rear end went to bolt through on the 223(i think it was already bolt through on the 222 though?) but went to 150x12 rear end on the 223/224. I dont like them so dont know that much about them.

Dont know why but you can hear a 22x coming because they are so damn rattly! :o

Yea they do rattle a lot, but apart from an Intense M3 there aint much else out there i like to ride. Had a ride of an Azonic B52 and its got the same feeling as a 22x Frame. Will have a look around. Got to get rid of the big hit. Need something a bit more.. throwable :p

Hi all; i wanna upgrade my forks on my giant terrago disk 2006 any recommendations? Looking to spend what ever is needed to get some good forks...im thinking this will be £150 - £300?

What type of riding do you do - Cross Country, All Mountain etc ??

What do you not like about the Suntours?

To the top of your budget:

RS Reba or Revalations

They are meant to be good, I can't comment but buying them from Tim Flooks means they will be set up properly for your bike.

It migt be worth checking what the maximum fork travel your frame can take, maybe you would like a bit more travel?

Also note that the axel to crown length of the fork can effect the geometry of your bike. e.g. Marzochhi forks have a longer A2C height than Manitou.

Give Tim Flooks a call I say, he is very helpfull. :)

Well by the looks of the B52 its just a linkage actuated single pivot.....so fundamentally the same as the 22x series.

Was gonna say about the intense socom....but if you cant get an M3 i cant see you getting a socom. You could look at second hand uzzi Vpxs or that though?

Maybe a divinci?

Yo guys, I'm a bit of a bike noob and was just wondering why my chain has started skipping. It's like a gear change without my actually changing the gear. Was happening occasionally but I just ignored it, now it's happening pretty frequently. Any ideas?

It's called "ghost shifting". It happens if your cable stretches or you damage the mech (bit that hangs down and changes the gear) or chain. If you've not crashed then it'll be cable stretch, just use the shifter's barrel adjuster (the twisty knob where the cable leaves the right hand shifter) and the mech adjuster (where the cable goes in to the mech, although it may not have one) to tighten the cable. as you twist you'll see the mech move in (or out, depending on the direction turned) just twist it until the top jockey wheel (in the mech) lines up with the selected sprocket on the cassette.
