Wasn't insured on house insurance, never took out insurance on it, never have tbh it was a 5/6 year old mtb, probably not worth anything but to me it was, smack head would have got about £20 to his next fix, cant afford another right now.

Keep your eyes peeled and you never know, you might see it around, I've seen my old one twice now, just haven't been able to turn round in time to chase them down!

Might be worth getting your next bike added on the home insurance, I'm with MoreThan and they insure mine for its full value while its away from the home for £17 a year! :)

I decided to go somewhere a bit different today and ended up at Penmachno! Some of the singletrack there was great and the place was practically deserted, I think I only saw two other people the whole way round which was a nice change to Llandegla especially on a weekend. There were quite a few long fireroad climbs, but the rest more than made up for it and the views were awesome! It was also very very wet there, it felt like I was riding in a stream for at least half of it! At least the weather held off until I was near the end when the sky suddenly turned grey and it started tipping it down!

On the subject of it being wet, what shoes do people use? My 5.10s are great in the dry but they really do tend to hold a lot of water once they start getting wet.

Got an email from Canyon today

Hi John,

Many thanks for your e-mail.

We are right at the end of the 2011 model year now which is why availability of some models is limited at the moment.

All the information about the 2012 bikes, including the specification, the prices and the production schedule, will be announced on the website during the next couple of weeks.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any further questions.

Sincerely,

Cullen Ward - Canyon UK

May just wait and see

UK Bike Park was fun, though had a couple (and then some) big offs, so my body is a bit tender today. It was raining in the morning, but dried out nicely after lunch.

Mistercrabb... Tsubo is rather "interesting" in the wet! Had an off there where I bailed off the bike, landed on my feet and kep on running down the hill, trying not to fall and walk out of it. Turns out I couldnt stop myself and just ended up running halfway down the hill, only to hit a tree and having to try and climb back up again :P

My normal method on the steeps when DHing and I need to bail is to ditch the bike and hope I can run it out too :D

Haha, yeap.. though 90% of the time it just turns to epic failz though :D

Love today's Pinkbike POD

Worse than that. His entire helmet collapsed and likely broke his jaw in the process and a few teeth were knocked out. He had some head trauma and was in intensive care before they operated on him. No idea what happened, but this is as much as I could gather from the Twitters.

I feel so bad for the guy, his string of injuries are horrific. I can't imagine how that must play on him mentally. As soon as it gets wet, I literally freeze up so badly and can feel the fear juices running through my arms and legs, since I broke my arm in wet riding conditions.

Oh yeah, it was dry when we did it and we still found it hard to get clean runs :P

Also, if anyone feels like spending lots of money on CRC within the next week, I have a £10 e-voucher that came with my last order.
Minimum spend is £75 which is useless to me as I don't need anything right now.

Fastest gets it, code is MD3EM6QZHKCS
Let me know if you use it and I will edit this post.
It has to be used within about 1 and a half weeks I think.
