No problem if that actually does fit you, but you must be like under 5'0 because my friends little brother has that bike in medium. Unless you are using it for a lot of downhilling it's far more efficient on the flat and climbing in general.
 
18inch frame and im 5'8" but with ikle legs :o, looking at it again its probably set a bit higher than the photo

Had it in work today after doing 50 miles on it since saturday. Its now running sweet again.
 
Yes I'm pretty sure it is. Your brothers bike is nice and smart, but far too clean :P

Wish I had a brother in the business to service and keep my bike nice

That bike is the sex, looks very much like a turner to me though. :confused:

I service my own bike as we both work in the same place. He plans to sell the juicy 5s for £100 to a workmate and buy a set of juicy 7 carbons for £160( :confused: from the US ? ) ,sell the crankset and get XTR and sell the forks in 6 months time to get the Talas' with all the adjustment AFAIK.
 
Not sure I like the geometry on the marathon.

As for the Zaskar looks nice, but I think the manufacturer quoted weight probably a bit off, or that's the top end 3.5+ plus version with top end components and crappy but ultra light tyres etc

Do they come in any other colours?

I have seen the Marathon in different colours but not sure about the Zaskar.

The stretched cockpit of the Marathon marks it as a XC Racer.

Reviews of my Avalanche 1.0 said the geometry was a bit off making the steering twitchy and to be honest whilst it steers fast I would not say it is twitchy.

Oh and apparently GT are dropping the 3.0, 2.0, 1.0 monikers and replacing them with *, **, and *** so no more silly names like GT I Drive 5 1.0!!!

Maybe the "All Mountain" 2008 GT Force?

Just a quick question, it's my birthday soon and i'm looking to reduce a bit of weight on my bike.

I've already bought an uber light seatpost and stem, so my next train of though is to go for either a new lightweight set of xc tyres or a new front wheel.

I've got a hope disc brake on the front so I don't have to worry about whether the rim is disc compatible or not.

My current tyres are Tioga Factory DH 2.1's, which came with the bike, and the wheel consists of a sun ditchwitch rim with a Shimano deore M475 disc hub.

What is likely to be the better option, new front wheel for about £80 or a set of tyres about £60?

I was gonna say wheel till i remembered you had factory DHs! defo get new tyres. Those tyres are heavy and provide no grip whatsoever!

Upgrade the wheels as a set later on.

Good stuff, what tyres would you recommend? I'm looking for light weight but something i can chuck about without worries when i want to.

I've been looking at a set of Maxxis Larsen TT xc's, weighing 520g. They've got a tightly spaced design so should be pretty quick on hard surfaces, but good enough for a bit of mud too.

Just looking for something that's lightweight and wont cry if it gets tickled by a thorn. Think i've decided to go for the larsen tt's but in the slightly thicker freeride compound. Still only 750g.

Any chance these are what you're talking about? They're Hope Mono 6TI's and probably weigh more than your bike. :p

Um thin sidewalls get bust open,thorns/nails etc get in too easy,crap rubber so have no grip.....crap tread design so only works in specific conditions....and so on.

6 piston brake would be hope mono 6 or gatorbrake. I cant think of any other manufacturer that makes 6 pistons.
