Is Glentress do-able on a HT??

I did the red, black and double diamond black? on my old xile with 130mm forks! The red was fine as its just loads of tables and some wee drops.....the black was harder because of the big rock section....steep head angle and not a lot of bouncy = some scary stuff. The north shore sections are fine on a hardtail but would be more comfy on a full sus.

The freeride park is great fun but i aint been up to try the new section they built recently. Havent been up in a few months so dont know what condition its in justnow but the tables where good but two were sketchy because the lips had worn away a bit(made for some nose diving with one foot on the pedal action for me).

Ideally i'd want to do glentress on a 5-6" full sus bike for the best of both as the climbs to the top are PITA.

I love this bit....

and the northshore that goes up at an angle just after that.

Picked up a couple of saddles.

Brooks B17 Special Champion in Green
Brooks Team Pro in Honey

Dead comfy, although hard they seem to be the right shape.

I've been having a look at saddles since the one i have on my new bike gives me serious arse ache. I was thinking about picking one of these up but they look like a lot of work keeping the leather looked after and dont look all that comfy so you will need to post how you get on.
I went for a Specialized BG2 Sport Saddle in the end as its got the cut out to take the pressure off my sensative parts which really seem to take a beating.

I've recently bought an NC-17 XC Ti Saddle. It's light as anything (192 grams), due to how thin it is and having titanium rails, but it's surprisingly comfy. :)

All these people concerned about weight.....im skint so will be getting the cheapo cro mo bel air saddle! Well i do have a bighit so i shouldnt care too much as its already a lardarse. :(

They don't look comfy, but they are. As for looking after it, a monthly clean/proofide, then 2 time annual clean/proofide.

Although I understand why someone wouldn't want a leather saddle, can't leave it getting soaked in the road, have no scuff guards etc.

Im getting my bike finished and on my way to passing my driving test :D Im only about 30-45minutes away from glentress so i'll be up whenever i can.

I cant wait to get back to uni only 20ish minutes away from cannock chase so hopefully il be spending plenty of time up there and only an hour n a half from wales so looking to spend some weekends up there

Slight coincidence that you now prefer gravity to assist you? :p :D

quick question for any guys running carbon fibre parts, would getting a cf seatpost and bars on my bike change the feel of the ride noticably?
