*waits to get shot down*

:(

That bike is so bad...from the extremely overtightened BB with very loose lockring...to the plastic brake levers that you can bend to the bar. The welds look as though i did them by heating a screwdriver over a cooker....poor you mate.

If you arent actually ripping the **** then make sure the left hand crank bolt is tight and the bolt that holds the handlebars to the stem is tight. Both are prone to working loose when some poof on a 5-8 shift cant be bothered to do the job right or even if you are building it yourself.

Danoliver, older cheap bikes are actually decent. I had to service a 6 or so year old apollo(old couple) and they works better than the **** i have to build from new. Each year they get worse and worse.

hmm, what would i tighten it with?

Cheap bike so IIRC its a 14mm socket....its under a plastic cover.

The Fs26 is just as **** really, exact same components just a heavier frame. I used to recomend the *c26s models as they were kinda decent. This year however they changed from a perfectly good(you could set it up) tektro disk caliper.....and full cartridge bottom bracket and full metal levers to a crap disk that nobody can set up and have had so many customer complaints regarding them, back to a cheaper cup and cone bottom bracket and the brake levers have plastic bar clamps which is daft as its always at the clamp the plastic ones snap!

just picked up bike atm, halfords "safety check" was a load of ****, brakes were touching rims, and gears were not adjusted at all. Got them to sort out everything though, so its kl now :) . Had a short ride, its not bad tbh, will do the job nicely!

Hahaha typical. Totally depends on the member of staff who is left to build the bike though. We had an employment agency worker who has now went part time trying to pdi bikes and he has no clue. One of the full timers wants him to do it(lazy aparently) and the other fulltimer(my brother) said he aint even to touch a bike till he has time to train him.

after riding it a few miles, my opinion has changed....this bike SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! Like, 1 mile feels like 3-4, , my legs are knackered after riding it lol, im guessing its the sucky tyres. Just gotta deal with it, dont wanna upgrade this badboy!

Well i did...say "That bike is so bad...from the extremely overtightened BB with very loose lockring...to the plastic brake levers that you can bend to the bar. The welds look as though i did them by heating a screwdriver over a cooker....poor you mate."

You can change the tyres but the hubs are crap and dont hold your speed well and the BB is probably very tight?

Finally my new bike :D

I had to remove 2 spokes from my rear wheel due the backing clips breaking. I'm assuming it will be fine to continue riding? - there are 9 spokes between the 2 missing ones.

Yeah you're probably right.
I've just realised I can buy some spare spokes which is much more appealing than spending £200 on a rear wheel, hub etc :)

What backing clips do you speak off?

Two spokes would be ok for light riding aslong as its still tensioned. I would just get the wheel trued with new spokes where you removed them or full new spokes. I was quoted £20 + the cost of spokes to build a wheel.
