Just all mountain riding, i go to trail centres often and just ride anywhere and anything mountain tbh! Love going up hills and love going down hills more!! :D

I mean if i can get something great cheaper then of course i would, but dont you have to spend a decent wack to get a really good full sus thats worth it?

Commencal Meta AM2: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/commencal-meta-am2-650b-suspension-ex-display-2014/rp-prod120187

But top of the list would defo be a YT Capra:

Nice!

Now I'm really tempted. So cheap! Could probably get my hole build in for under 2k with swapping some bits over from the Pike.

The quoted price is exclusive of a shock, so not too cheap.

Steve: stunning YT you got there. You're right, the Bos wheezes a lot, but that's normal. How nice of YT to line up the maxxis with the ethirteen logos too :-)

Unless I read something wrong, it comes with a choice of either?

Certainly in the drop down menus when choosing?

They feel stiff and unresponsive. IE, horrible :D I know they should be much smoother/nicer than what they currently are. They'll be having a few hours around Cwmcarn on Thursday, I'll try some fork juice on them too.

Anyone have any opinions on floating rotors vs normal rotors?

If you don't end up going to Cwmcarn we got a good loop which includes Bike Park Wales and Mountain Ash DH track if you fancy joining us bud! :)

I suspect that must be an error on the site - if you're inclined to buy one, I'd certainly give it a go at that price + it's a fracking sick bike.

Frames like these aren't "grey" products as weescott claims, because they aren't OEM kit stripped off a full build (ala: Merlin cycles selling shimano drivetrain), nor do these bikes come as full builds with OEM partners.

I don't have access to Ison distribution (the Banshee distros), but knowing trade prices, I can't fathom that the price of this link is accurate, as I can't see them making any money off the sale.

I hope I'm wrong, and would urge you to click BUY! :D

Didn't know you were selling the YT. Too much bike?

He doesn't like speed or adventure, see his riding pics for evidence :D

Guys, can anyone point me in the direction of something simple to help me understand bike prices.
It's my brothers 40th birthday soon, and the family plan to buy him a road racing bike, but our knowledge on current bikes is from the 1996 Shimano Halfords range. :)

I have had a gander and to be honest, I cannot see much change in design, with £700+ bikes still using rubber brake blocks, I just don't see what is making them so expensive.
I am reading a lot about Ultegra, but can't work out what exact benefit that is.

Obviously reducing weight, i.e carbon fibre, is understandably a little pricier but gearing systems costing hundreds more is ludicrous to me.

use a credit card to buy it to cover yourself in the event of thinks going south.

Of course to a non-cyclist it would be, and I don't see how we could explain even if we in here did shave our legs while taking EPOs (roadies).

To me a car is a car - a better car is one that can take my bike in the back, without having to take my front wheel off. Why on earth would I pay all that much money for a Continental GT V8 as the speed limit for both my car and the Bentley is the same? (Sorry if the car doesn't fit the analogy, I had to quickly try google an expensive posh car)

Not picking a fight, but just trying to put things into perspective.

Really like the look of that Kona, Plus the canyon spectral im looking at.. although theres a lot of different ones at different prices, the lowest spedc one is 1700, but still seems awesome! The capra is pure class though..

Hard to go wrong with a lot of the AM bikes available at the moment.
Always go with gut-feel - the one that just for some intangible reason floats your boat. By all means, get opinions online, but gut feel counts most imo after all the opinions have been gathered.

And for the lolz
