unless I was buying half price inner tubes, I would avoid Evans, and would no way buy a bike from them.

Mate got his Zesty from them a couple of years back. The frame developed a crack, so he had to send it back for a replacement.
Shocking customer service. It took them almost 4 months to turn things around.
I would sooner go to Halfords. At least they have stores in most cities

Oh dear, i think you've got the wrong end of the stick there! Everybody in this thread loves the uphills!

Dunno if your being serious or not but theres atleast four or five riders on here with DH bikes and plenty with longer travel all mountain/trail/enduro or whatever bikes who i'm sure appreciate a good uplift.
Places like BPW, Stiniog, Revolution and FOD are all relatively central and you get people on all types of bikes.

From my understanding your more suited to the saved leg brigade... :p

Might be an unpopular selection, but I've picked myself up a bargain Orange Five frame to move all the Stiffee components over to and need to decide what to do about the rear shock....

Do I:

- Service/PUSH the existing 2010 RP23 Shock (Not 100% on its reliability) - £150
- Buy a new PUSHed RP23 - £295 - Effective cost £145
- Buy a CCDB Air CS - £485 - Effective cost £335

I am 15/16st depending on what cycle of the diet i'm on and stick to general red/black trail riding. The bike will have a 140mm Fox 32mm Float RLC up front.

Thoughts...

Get a CCDBir.
I don't get the recommendation that "there's no point" in matching it with a Fox 32.

The CCDBA doesn't make the fork any worse (don't think its possible making that fork any worse anyway), and you will have a brilliant shock, as opposed to amediocre one.

They are the PC world of the cycling industry.

But can't be any worse than halfords which is where my last bike was from?

There's only about 6 bike shops within a few miles of me and most of them only sell crap bikes.

one is run by an ex Olympic cyclist but they don't stock the bike I want :| and 3 are halfords

My only choices are basically evans since the other 2 stores don't even sell the size bike I need on the website and would likely not be willing to order one in for me to try.

sucks to be 6"3 with a 35 inseam :|

Whats wrong with the Fork? Never noticed any issues with it on the Stiffee.... (Not that Im the best judge)

XC in the Alps, Ugine area?

Few of us are off to the South of France on Sunday, hiking, biking, white water rafting etc, can't wait!

Anyone been across there, particularly the Ugine region, and got any recommendations for some XC MTB trails? Lad who owns the chalet we're staying in has got some ideas, but it's always worth asking around too! :)
