As much as I love my freerider VXI elements, and still wear them - not sure I can recommend them. They seem to be wearing through the sole awfully quickly.
The other thing, is that it's pretty dreadful in the wet.
The problem with them in the wet is, that they keep all the water inside - when I rode BPW in the rain, I felt like jesus walking on water the whole time. It was exasperated because I had waterproof socks on.
The new Impact VXI is hopefully better at letting the water out while you;re riding. Not had the opportunity to test it in the wet yet. For what it's worth, the new Impacts weigh bugger all.

They are a bit on the snug side, my Teva links were close to being sent back when i bought them and i dont have massively wide feet, took a few rides and a day of standing on the side of a mountain to get them broken in, very comfortabe now, but apart from that they are awesome, might not be the grippiest of compounds but the sole pattern more than makes up for it, and make for really grippy shoes when climbing back to the top on non uplift assisted locations, i've used and abused mine horrendously and still going strong with minimal wear to the soles.Just bought some Teva's. They are getting sold though, they are too thin a fit for my fat hobbit feet.![]()
Fingers crossed for you man! Keep us (me) updated.
It's very surprising to me that the owners of the company don't do everything in their power to make the customer feel special. It's their bread and butter. Their baby.
Any news on your bike yet dude?![]()
HeySold my Giant Trance this morning. Didn't lose a penny on it!
I'm waiting to speak to Bird, and then I'm going to make the following changes to the order (I am DEFINITELY my own worst enemy):
1) Change the Zero.AM hardtail to a Zero.2 (probably).
2) Place a pre-order for the Aeris AM.X1
When the Aeris eventually arrives in Feb/March, I'll probably sell the Zero.2 and then upgrade any bits on the Aeris that I don't like (carbon wheels, etc.) or just pocket the cash and use it to go to Morzine
That's today's plan, but anything can changeAre you riding this weekend?
My plan is to buy frame and shock from aeries, happy with kit on the amx.
Waiting in eagerly, have asked for a tracking number. But no email, funny feeling it's not going to arrive. Which means renting a bike at glentress tomorrow!
Yellow one? AM too?
I seen that. Meh, would've just liked an email saying sent with tracking number. Like all other companies do, for things that cost a lot less.
It would be difficult to sell, will see how much I can sell the bird for first. Though I could sell the pitch then, transfer parts to zero and buy some 650b rims. Will wait till aeries is out though, I'm in no rush for another bike.
Bike-less too currently, well pitch is 600miles away. Time off work too, all I want to do is ride!
Checked website, tracking number on there. Though the site could be wrong, it states Order Processed: Ready for UPS. So not shipped or in transit by the looks of it!
Arggghhhh! I hope it's wrong
I am very, very tempted to drive down to their office now and sort out this order face-to-face. It's my last day off work so it's kinda now or never.
Have you tried phoning them? Email Dave, he's normally pretty quick at responding.
