Had another trip up to Glenlivet on Sunday. Starting to know the track and lines. So easy to overshoot the jumps at the bottom of the descent. Love it :D

So jealous, I miss the highlands. I think I may have mentioned that a few times. :(

SC - Not tried the aeris yet?

No, not tried it yet. They are doing regular demos now, but I've lost interest now that my shoulder is fubar.

Heard good feedback though, but if you're referring to me perhaps getting one, I don't believe it will add anything over the Spitfire I have. I should either go full carbon, high end 160mm, or stick with what I got.

@MattFSR, what size is your Crappa?

I fancy trying some Nobby Nics, which ones to go for though on bike-discount? The different version are confusing, want something light weight.

Drama queen, didn't come close to falling off :p

It scared the crap out me still :(. I'm hopeless with wet roots, just froze up at the site of em. The only proper off i had was on a track called endo, went straight over the bars and slid down a hill on my knees, didnt hurt abit and not even a tiny scratch!

enjoyed the day there but an extra 10-15 mins drive and ya got bike park wales which is far easier :p

dont hit roots slowly, its a recipe for falling off.

momentum is your friend, hit them in the direction you want to travel in with reasonable speed and you should prevail. or hop them.

thanks for offer on the spitfire cow, i dont ride either of those places but if im up those ways i'll let you know :)

Do any of you guys build your own wheels?

Ive got some nextie carbon rims I'm going to build up this weekend. This will be my first wheel build and unsure on what spokes to go with?

Im a lightweight at 11.5st but i want them built to take some abuse and not snapping spokes and need re-trueing all the time.

What would you guys recommend?

Thanks

Gents

My 7 and 8 year old boys wants mountain bikes for Christmas (Amongst other things :))

7 year old is 22in inside leg and 8 year old 24in inside leg

2 questions, where is best to buy and frame size, Halfords go by age, is that a safe approach

Thanks

Depends if they're "average sized" for their age?

If so , then going by age seems to be a good approach, but ultimately getting them to try it out is best ... though may ruin the surprise a bit :p
