Decided to roll the dice and bought this, longest wait ever ... given an ETA of JULY!
Went through a bunch of options, but this is the one that ticked the most boxes (carbon, light, 160mm, low, long, slack, shortish CS, X factor). Not usually one for colour, but I dig it.

Will be transferring all my parts over when I get it. Close call between it, the new Nomad and the Yeti SB6C - still on the edge of cancelling and getting the nomad (which is readily available) .... will try make up my mind over the weekend.

But, why? I thought the Spitty was God's gift?

It is...hardest decision I've ever had to make (biking related anyways)...but as I mentioned couple pages back - I'm emigrating to Australia next year. As a result, I'm selling the DH bike and only riding one bike going forward.

I'll be moving close to some decent uplift assisted DH tracks, with fair amount of gnar (though not particularly steep), so I think that perhaps hammering the crap out of the little 140mm bike, on DH days and then trail riding, might be asking too much of it over a long period of time (I don't see myself getting another bike for 5 years). I figured if I got for something a bit more burly, but yet still light (i.e: Carbon 160m frame) should be a safe bet, while I'm still in a country where I can pull strings for cheap bikes :)

Looks good, apart from that awful internal routed cabling. Did you go frame only? The nomad and yeti are a LOT more expensive than the Giant though? I mean the Yeti must be close to 2k more than it. Is it worth it?

Seems you have yourself convinced it's the right choice though.

So what's the selling price on the spitty :p

Full builds only on the Giant (though I got hold of the full build for 2800, less than the other two's frame only options!) Money doesn't matter, I just want the right bike. Will be moving parts from the full build over to the spitty, then sell that as a whole (that's the plan at the moment)

Will let you know what I decide / what the spitty will be going for.

Edit: yea, only like the Nomad's internal routing, because it has a sleeve on the inside, so its straight forward just to push the cable through.

That's a pretty price for the full bike! Seems to come with some decent kit there too.

It's nearly as much as a bargain as the Capra there.

Missed out on superstars black friday yesterday! £110 for a wheel set, gutting.

The spec is OK, but very little of it will be on the bike when i'm done with it.
There was a mistake on Tredz' website, where it was advertised for 2800. Later on when I decided to pull the trigger, the price had been corrected - so I moaned at them, and they honoured the price :)

edit: Hmm,thinking of some ENVE M70 wheels with it. Colour code the ENVE decals, or go to colours on the opposite side of the colour spectrum?

Just back from a great day watching the cyclo cross world cup here in Milton Keynes , What a great sport never even new about it up until a few months ago.
Might be my next bike instead of a getting another hardtail.

I went, what a brilliant crowd and atmosphere it was, I prefer xc really but though I would go check this out, it amazes me how fast they ride on those bikes, incredible fitness.

First snow ride of the season yesterday. Great on the trails that had been ridden on by others and packed down, but the occasional climb still had too much non-packed snow. A bit overdressed to start with as it wasn't as cold as the forecast had predicted.

A wee Cycle write-up of my weekend escapade.

After not getting out on the bike for a few weeks then coming down with food poisoning for nearly 4, I thought it was about time I got some fresh air. I decided I needed a cycle and something different from my usual trails in the local grounds, I then remembered a wee 3-4 mile walk I did nearly two years ago to Stac A' Phris on the Isle of Lewis, knowing my fitness wasn't going to be up to much I didn't want to push myself too much. No trails, no tracks, just open coast line and loads of fun!

So Off I set, weather was overcast and cool, just how I like it :D

First glimpse, after a bit of trekking around I could see my destination

Decided to head along the headland you can see to the right of the above image first.

End of the road, reached the end point of the sticky out bit

Time to head to the Stac, this bit was fun, rocky downhilly section :D

Made it, left the bike here as it was quite a dodgy drop at the edge haha

Epic selfie :D

Good wee cycle, nearly died by the end of it, now I need to build up my fitness again. Hope you enjoyed the read and the shots, all taken on my GoPro 3+Black (Except the first shot, was on my Canon 5D)
