Stupid question incoming...

I bought a set of xfusion slants for a new build, ended up buying a full build! But I've just got myself a very cheap wheel with a 15mm hub so I'm tempted to try this fork on the pike. The pike headset is 1 1/8 threadless and the fork is tapered.

I'm pretty sure this won't work...? I could just test but the bike is at work and the fork is in my room! Not back in work until next week now.

I think I get it, tapered is 1 1/5 at the bottom and 1 1/8 at the top meaning no chance unless I can get some fancy adapter to fit.

I have this headset in my 29er to run a tapered fork in a straight 1 1/8 headtube.

just check it will fit, i was going to fit one to the trek a while back but the internal diameter of the head tube was too narrow for the cup if i remember rightly? or something.

The diameter was fine for me but the part that fits inside the headtube was a little too long. Had to file a few mm off the top of it but it has worked fine for 2-3 years now.

I have recently started cycling to work (since begin of last week). I'm not a nervous cyclist, but neither am I particularly confident.

But was severely unnerved yesterday on my way home when about 10-15m in front of me at a mini roundabout a cyclist was hit head on by a car who had simply not seen the cyclist (was the cyclists right of way).

Cyclist was OK (kept saying he was fine, but obviously shaken) but his bike was trashed.

Not sure why I'm posting this, maybe just to sound off a little, but after less than 2 weeks of cycle commuting I've almost been hit by a car once and witnessed a crash. Is that normal? If it is that seems crazy.

i nearly mowed a cyclist down on a roundabout the other day as he came all the way around.

it was dark and peeing it down and he was dressed all in black and had the worlds smallest lights though, so he only lit up when he appeared in my headlights.

You'll be glad to find out, that they have changed that seat brace...and it's only that XL version that was that enormous to begin with.

Ah yes, they did tell me that when I was picking up my hardtail from them :)

I wish they'd release photos of all of the different colours so that I can make my mind up. I'm leaning towards lime green.
