What shifters does it have? Whats the rear mech? Surely if they are a problem, they can be changed easily.

CS||nuTs, get some riding done! Its too clean! Also, please take the reflectors off :p

Plan on changing the pedals anyway so didnt bother :D

Do Halfords have anything decent pedal-wise? Failing that, what should i be looking for? Im not into the whole clips thing.

My local Halfords sells DMR V8s, which are OK. Grippy and strong but heavy. Wellgo MG1 is probably the best all-round flat pedal you can choose, unless you're a rock-smasher, they're light, grippy and cheap.

The gear changes are not as good as on my Malt 2, although they are cheaper mechs. Also the gear leavers vibrate when on the road which is a little annoying but I'm sure I'll get used to it! Last but not least the shifters are horrible, I'm so used to flicking the leaver back to drop a cog!
The shifters and rear derailleur on the Pitch Comp are low end. Get some X9 kit for 'gunshot' gear changes.

Decided to go for the Specialised Hardrock Sport Disc in the end, fancied the disc brakes, mainly as I've never had them and I like new things :p

Get it Saturday, can't wait :D

Already planning a monster ride!

Yeah, they are a bit of a downgrade compared to the XT's I have been used to - they will do for now though, they do eventually change gear :p Maybe ill upgrade them come the end of the year.

Nice, what groupset's/wheels going on it?

Gonna be using the wheelset from my other bike for the moment, Mavic Open Sports on Suzue (iirc) hubs. I'll be riding fixed (46/18). It's replacing my other fixed which after a couple of months riding i've sadly had to decide is too big.

:( I know Matt has been trying to get us all together for a ride but I've been real busy with other stuff and work the past few weeks. He did mention you were going away, I didn't realise it was so soon! When you get some leave and if you head back up this way give me a shout, my MSN and email addresses are in trust :)

First Time Trial of the season our club ran, one of the lads turned up on a Dolan track bike, running fixed as well. Only draw back he found was the carbon saddle was a tad uncomfortable for use on a tarmac track. Fine on a smooth velodrome surface though. Looked stunning and being carbon weighed next to nothing.

Given the choice which bike would you rather own?

a Specialized Rockhopper Pro 2009 (mine)

or a Cube LTD Team 2009 (Want)

I'm wondering if a bike shop will let me trade in for it?

This shop is pretty close to me

Hmm whats the difference i thought the Pro was quite a well specced one? I feel the same way now aswell and would probably have preffered a Boardman or a CUBE over my disc comp, the CUBE's are really nice.
