I think everyone does that. ;)

I know I did, you get up to a junction, slow down and think "Nah....wont bother unclipping" and try and move out to beat the traffic. Then something makes you stop and you suddenly realise you are still clipped in. Then *BOOM*, down you go....!!!

It's an easy mistake to make. A learning experience, so to speak. ;)

I can't remember the last time i put my foot down at a traffic light or when i had to stop for whatever reason.

That's quite cool!! :D

I think I would practice that in the back garden though, rather than out on the road.:p

A slight slope is a great place to learn on, face up the slope and you barely need brakes just pedal tension.

I do biketrials as well so for me i can practically stand there without even looking like i'm moving, the "micro adjustments" that he mentions are ridiculously small.

Took about 2 weeks to get it happily and since then it's just something i've done naturally.

Wonder how easy it is to do on a roadbike with drop bars?. Would think flat bars on a hybrid or MTB might make it easier?. Maybe I'm wrong?. I will give it a go next time I am out on the bike. ;)

When you're learning to trackstand try and do it without braking. That way your body learns the natural balance point of you and your bike, not including variable forces ie. your braking.

Cool. My sesne of balance is pretty good. I have perfected the art of rolling to a stop in traffic on my motorbike and balancing, keeping both feet on the pegs at a standstill. Can sit there for minutes at a time no problem.

I intended getting out for my favorite "quick fix loop" route of 26 miles but I got sidetracked gardening.....lol. :p

And it looks like tomorrow could turn out very wet. :(

I'm trying to find some good routes to ride on the road around here, as I find it bit difficult to do longer distance - I usually go to Richmond Park but get bored after a lap or two going in circles :p

If I get up early and feel motivated I may cycle to Tunbridge Wells + Back tomorrow (looks to be around 40 miles each way)

Didn't get a ride in today, I was trailbuilding at glentress and basically ground myself into a fine paste of human wreckage whacking, shovelling and barrowing. Bikes stayed on the roof of the car, I don't think either of us could face taking them down, just as well since as soon as I got home I collapsed on my bed and sacked out for 3 hours :P

I neeeeeeeeeeeeed a Pitch :(

What Pitch is that andi? Not seen that colour before tbh.

Finally bought some new pedals for my bike and new shoes. Went out yesterday afternoon and came off a cropper lol I knew it would happen.

I bought the bike a couple of years ago, I didn't want to spend too much money in case it just ended up in the garge un-used. So far I've done a fair few miles.

I'm setting off shortly to go from London to Tunbridge Wells using the following route :

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&s...51.286829,0.230713&spn=0.613247,1.785278&z=10

Then back again - should be good, weather is quite nice today.

That's a nice route, you pass through the next village to me just 2 miles from my house! The Hare and Hounds pub in Bidborough is a great place to get some lunch. They sell Kangaroo there if you want something different. :p
I bet it's a nice view from Bidborough ridge today too. :)
