That's a nice route, you pass through the next village to me just 2 miles from my house! The Hare and Hounds pub in Bidborough is a great place to get some lunch. They sell Kangaroo there if you want something different. :p
I bet it's a nice view from Bidborough ridge today too. :)

Decided against this in the end :o may do it next weekend if the weather is good but get up earlier and set off early so I have enough time to get there and back.

Done around 40 miles today about London, nice weather out but quite a bit of traffic unfortunately

In search for another bike I think I got myself a bit of a bargain.

* 2007 SX trail
* Titanium spring + old steel spring
* e.thirteen LG1 chainguide
* Fox van 36 forks

All for a sum of £400 - not bad hey!

Supercow :eek:

eBay! I want a bargin like that :D Situation is changed, new house to save for... budget for a new bike has been slashed to around £1200 :(

There are many old style (2007-08) SX Trails bike or frames on ebay, this one looks good.

Didn't even realise anywhere made 7 speed stuff anymore and decent 8 speed stuff is pretty much long gone.
These are low end bikes for £300, with two years of a 10-15% increase they are squeezing the spec to fit budgets.

so I bought a few stuff from bikesyoulike.co.uk great deals and prices however their customer support kinda sux emailed them no response,
and their site whats the point of having a login in without having a track order or your latest order function on it.
Anyone bought from this site just to make sure they are reliable?

Should be heading to Stainburn Forest (near Harrogate) tomorrow if the weather stays good. Might take some pics.

Quick question:
I took my bike (Kona Fire Mountain 2006 - purchased in 2007) in for a basic service to Evans, and they’ve just phoned and told me my bottom bracket is knackered, and all of the cables need replacing because they are rusty!? Now I’ve only used my bike around 15 times since I’ve had it, off road rides for a couple of hours or so, so what would make the bearings in the bottom bracket go so quickly? I’ve not noticed anything strange when cycling, and they are going to charge £40 to replace it and £20 for the cables. I would attempt to do it myself but I've 0 experience of working on bikes, cars or anything else mechanical.

Any thoughts - should I let them do it, take it elsewhere, or try myself?

If it is the standard Bottom bracket then it may well be on its way out they dont last long best to ask what they will be replacing it with, and £20 for cables sounds expensive! I hope that is including labour charge?

Ok, bit of a long shot this but here goes:

I've got some left over credit at wheelies from an insurance claim and have already got the bike I want. I can offer 20% off the RRP off any new bike up to £3.3k.

Example:
You choose bike worth £3300
You pay me £3300 x 80% = £2640
I order bike and deliver it to you.

This can work for any bike less than £3.3k, so If you only want to spend £2k that's fine.

Anyone interested in a new bike?

My bikes were stolen from my garage a few weeks ago. New bikes are provided through Wheelies Direct.. I'm only getting one new bike so have lots of spare credit. Want to get a new car with the money so need to turn it into cash. If no one goes for this I'll just buy something like a Lapierre and sell it on.

I would have loved a little Orange Blood AM and if I had the cash I would take you up on your offer in a heartbeat.
