I wanted some lighter tyres, so swapped the 2.3 speshs for 2.1 XC pros.

Im looking at this sort of pedal:

Did you checkout the M647s? :p The one pictured is similar to those made by Crank Bros, Something like the mallet might fit your bill, although the one pictured is more like the candy. There's also a new model coming out called Acid which looks like it might be good.

nice bike bcjames.

lets hope the DHX air doesn't ovalise like it has been known to do. :o Not the quickest up hill, darn fast down hill though :)

Did I ever show the the pic of my pedals? They are 3 years old ya know: clicky

next week I arr be mostly showing pics of my V12 terror pin induced scars. :p

terror pins should be banned  may as well just use 2" nails

Seen some nice bikes on here, anyway my contribution is something slightly different, i also have a bmx starting to be built up :D.

Built myself, changed the bars, pedals and brake hosing. Really nice ride, just a little too big for the park i ride!

most people when going for a single brake have it on the front don't they in general? any reason why you went for it on the back rather than front?

looks very nice however.. apart from those pink grips

there are some very nice bikes on here. unfortunately my cove has now been stolen but my new bike is coming tomorow. pics will follow. its another custom build but not a cove

why does no one around here like platform pedals out of intrest?

SPDs let you put more power down, and your feet dont bounce off the pedals so easily on the rocky sections. They can just take a bit more nerve to ride certain places, as you can't bail so easy.

haha, i have 2 pairs of v8's and a pair of keo classics.. i understand how they have their advantages and dissadvantages.. just why does no one like platform pedals? because your feet bounce off over rockgardens and suchlike?

Pretty much, and that you can only pedal on the downstrokes. Flat pedals have their place, but I think for most mountain bike applications, in the truest sense, SPDs are the way to go.

I've ridden v12s, the old greaseport V8's and Easton Culley's, with the king of platform mtb shoes ;), and while admittantly they're excellent, they still don't give the control and power as a pair of spds. :)

That sucks, that really sucks, i liked that bike of yours. I hope the insurance pays out quickly for you, I just took out one for £10 a month for a £1400 cover.

As for your new bike, i wanna see :) did you get a LBS to built it for you and you just picked the parts? i want to upgrade mine already, better forks (Fox Float), rear shocks (Fox Float Rip), Hope brakes......I am mad, only done like 15/20miles on it so far !
