klkl im interested 2 see this bike with pikes as it sounds an odd combination. how much travel u running?

the bike didnt cum with rebas did it?
I'm running 120mm, cause it's the max CB said I could run, although I'm tempted to take it down to 100.

And no it didn't come with Rebas but the Judy tt's that came on it sucked.

most people when going for a single brake have it on the front don't they in general? any reason why you went for it on the back rather than front?

looks very nice however.. apart from those pink grips

The grips are something just a little different. . .

As far as single brakes go, i see rear as the obvious choice as do a lot of people, sure the front has a greater stopping power, however for the kind of riding done by myself and those i talk to the back brake is the most obvious one to have in on a single brake bike. When jumping or riding park it helps to scrub speed off, where as front brakes aren't able to do this so well.

Man ! another bike got stolen

I'd get last year's rockhopper disc, you can get it for about £550, with Avid Juicy 5 brakes, or even the STC SX for around the same price.

 Really mad atm... need to calm down.

Was gunner get a new bike but its not the point

Got any links to the Rockhopper disc and the Giant STC SX for my price?

They are really close, the Rockhopper has Rockshox forks, different to te Giant. They are both really light bikes, i've picked them both up and it weights hardly anything.

You really need to try them both and see which one you prefer. Go to your LBS and haev a go and then buy online if you wish. I wouldn't buy it without trying it first.

Someone on here has the Giant XTC SX a few pages back, and if you do a search someone else got the Giant SX or the LX too and they love it. I think Chris also have the Giant Trance and a Rockhopper and he likes them both. Bottomline, neither is bad, it's down to personal preference.

went out on the bike today some mates who ride DH and stuff where at V festival so i ended up going XCing as i was so desperate to try my bike.

the bikes awesome going downhill and over technical bits i just raced ahead laughing at my XC ing mates slipping and bouncing all over roots and rocks :D

payback for them laughing at me trying to ride a 40+ lbs full susser uphill i suppose lol

fun day with the only negative been that me and the bike looked like wed been dragged through a swamp :p

Thanks. I'l source a decent local shop and test them out. See which one I like best.

Nice :D I am so glad i got a FS now rather than a HT.

BTW, you got a mudguard yet? I think i'll get one next week, only about £10, keeps your back dry.

A crud for the front's not bad, I have an SKS Xtra Dry for the back, it's not bad, but the mounting system sucked to the extent I used cable ties to fix it on securely.

I haven't tried the rear crud, it's meant to be alright, but as with every other rear mudguard, it seems to suffer mounting issues.
