maybe 10 years ago. I'm running the Monkeylite XC's (claimed 155g) on my Heckler with Yeti Lock On's. You have to be careful when installing/uninstalling them that you don't score the bars, but the first few layers are cosmetic only so you don't have to worry about it too much.

Fair enough. Mine said somewhere on the packaging/in the manual that they shouldn't be used with carbon bars, so I was just curious :)

I've had one since '06. Mine is a 19" and I'm 6'2", my bikes vary between the L and XL sizes.

Cool, would be interested to know what you think of it. Cant imagine it getting much play when you have the Sultan in the stable :D

Sat on a 21" and it felt right, so thats the one im testing. I'm somewhere around 6'8" approx.

Can anyone recommend a good bike lock? My Hardrock Comp 2009 got stolen so my insurance company are replacing it with a Hardrock Comp 2010 Disk brake. They are providing me with one of these: Kryptonite Kryptolok but I would like another one just to keep it safe.

They are not very good locks, if your after a good D lock you want one of these New York Lock

Picked up my new Helmet today, to say I'm happy with it is an understatement :D
It's just so light and comfortable you forget you're wearing it, coupled with how well it breathes and the extra back protection, I really couldn't even consider any other helmets in the same price range :D

I am just after a good lock in general. Chain or D lock does not matter really. Thanks for the help so far :D

I have two of the New York locks that i just posted they are really robust and gold sold secure so top end for an insurers point of view, but if you are after a lock to carry about with you there not so good far to heavy!

*snip*

The Flux is an awesome helmet, I just wish they had that colour last year when I got mine :(

I've been using a Flux for nearly 2 years and its okay but could be designed better.
The side clips both broke after a couple of months use, the internal padding isn't held in place properly so I'm missing some of it and the visor comes unclipped easy when I have it hanging off my handle bars.

I would probably pay a bit more and get a Giro Xen or Specialized Vice.

How about attaching one to the bike and carrying it around?

How heavy are they actually?

That's not that much. I plan to purchase one of them and use the cheaper one as well. Never hurts to be safe. I always carry a rucksack with me in case I need to go shopping so it could slide in there nicely.

Just ordered a Sunline Direct Mount Stem and Truativ Boobar Handlebars (780mm!!!!!!!!!!) for my new bike. Will be cutting the bars down to around 760mm

So much more rewardign bringing an old quality bike back from the dead rather than buying new cheap junk

This has inspired me. My old lightweight hybrid that I leave at the station is about to become a single speed road bike.

I might, however, paint it pink in the hope that no-one will want to steal it.

Test ridden and bought the Paragon 29er.

Just took it out for a blast. Tis awesome.

As a tall guy I can say it is excellent. It just feels right.

The SRAM x.9 kit is excellent too, gear changes instantly. Fox fork is very plush, need to read the manual to set it up properly before going out again.

Can anybody please point out the main differences between a jersey labelled as a Downhill one, and a regular cycling one? With the cold months coming up I'm looking at getting a long sleeved cycle jersey but all the ones I've seen + liked seem to be advertised as Downhill.

It's going to be used for MTB'ing btw, not doing downhill but a lot of singletrack stuff etc.
