My 2010 Hardrock Comp turned up today, I am still waiting on a Abus Granit x54 lock which should be arriving tomorrow. I might get round to taking some pictures and posting them.

Collister,

You are talking 6" travel and at least 180mm disc front and rear for those long decents.

For your budget and 2nd hand you are looking at a 2005 SC Bullit or such like. Bikes like these are likely to have been thrashed to bits, so I would seriously consider upping your budget as much as you can afford or look out for bargains.

Well, I'm taking it in tomorrow to get a couple of other things checked over anyway, so I'll get the gears looked at as well. I've tried everything with the tension, but it doesn't seem fixable that way.

On another note:

:D

hey guys, quick question regarding a Cateye Strada Wireless unit, got one yesterday, all calibrated and fitted to the bike, but my problem is with the magnet, i have Flat spoked wheels and the magnet isnt staying put on the spokes no matter how hard i tighten it, anyone got any ideas what i can do?
Mavic make spoke magnets for aero spokes, you might need to pick one of these up. It's what I have to use on my road bike.

I thought Moto's were the older levers, replaced by the Tech's? Currently considering Tech V2's for a build I'm contemplating.

You are right, I'm just going by the old name :p.

I asked Hope if a Moto M4 [mono] was possible a couple of years ago and they said no - the Moto's levers pushed out far more power than the standard lever (pre Tech), and the Mono M4 couldn't handle it. Now they use the Tech lever across the range bar the Tech X2 Pro. I guess the Tech calipers, and Tech lever's for that matter, must be more robust than the Mono's.

Feeling pretty damn lucky. Went up the Dity Jumps me and my mates are building and hit some of the lines. Went to throw a whip down but got a bit wonkey, knew i was gonna crashed so just held on for the best, as i landed my wheel turned and went over the bars, but on the way the handlebar stuck into me. I had no bar ends in and the only thing to stop the handbar going into me was my belt buckle! Im still in quite a bit of pain but it could have been worse, so remember! FIT BAR ENDS!
